Last year’s debacle at the 2007 VMA awards may have stunted Britney Spears‘ comeback to the limelight – but the song “Gimme More” should have clued us in that she does want more.

After speculations as to whether she will make another comeback for the MTV Video Music Awards 2008 – Britney did more than open the awards show. She managed to grab 3 VMA’s for herself, too!

Looking more like her old self in a glittering silver number, the 26-year old mother of two nabbed the following awards:

- Best Female Video for “Piece of Me”
- Best Pop Video
- Video of the Year

Here’s an interesting trivia for all the Brit fans out there: she’s been nominated 16 VMA’s in the past – but never won! I can’t believe she didn’t get an award for the VMA’s even during the height of her career.

Anyways, let’s all hope that Britney’s second (or is this her third) chance to be in the limelight won’t be stunted by other parental or personal woes. Keep on improving, Britney!
