I’m appalled AND offended! Breast milk ice cream? Proposed by PETA? Do they think that cows get sore nipples from milking and it’s affecting the lives of the “poor cows”? Actually, a quote from the article says “cow’s milk is hazardous and that milking them is cruel” – they have got to be joking…
I’m waiting for PETA to open a Nursing Women Farm where they “milk” humans twice each day in order to produce enough milk for a gallon of ice cream. Who would ever be okay with that? Does PETA want to give cows more rights than women? Will cows by voting in the next election?

Actually the chemicals found in cow’s milk is not really healthy for humans to consume at all. And yes, milking them is cruel because they are artificially inseminated which is totally unnatural and it is painful for them to be milked by the dairy industry because it is completely different from the experience they would be having if it was there own child, which the milk was intended for. Pete does not want to give cows more rights than women and to suggest that just shows how little the author of this article comprehends the basic argument here. Just because women have rights, doesn’t mean we have to exploit cows.
In order for women to have breast milk, they must be pregnant. After two years or so, the breast milk goes away, until the woman gets pregnant again. So now, are we going to let women always be pregnant, just for the breast milk?? I understand that PETA is against animal cruelty, but this is just not right.
Not to mention, their calves are taken away from them immediatly (how would you feel??) and locked away in the dark to be veal.
Cow’s milk is for BABY COWS. Not selfish humans. They are not simply milked by hand by some sweet farmer, they’re connected to horrible metal machines and left ill and neglected. The cow’s milk you drink contains pus, scabs and blood and many other sickening things. Educate yourself, and let them be in peace.
And as for this remark-
“Does PETA want to give cows more rights than women?”
Do you disagree that animals should be treated as well as us? Or at least a little humane? Or are you that self righteous…
Though Peta goes about things the wrong way, they still have good morals and are just trying to educate those of us that are clueless. Most of us are. I suggest you do the research and then you can make judgments.
I hope you’re brave enough to have compassion.
“Storchen, a (very innovative) restaurant in Switzerland, has just announced that they will be unveiling a new menu that includes soups, stews, and sauces made with at least 75 percent human breast milk. Some folks might think that drinking human breast milk is strange … but really, what’s even stranger is that humans are the only species on the planet that drinks the milk of another species.
Storchen’s new menu got us thinking … which product would be fabulously awesome if it were made with breast milk instead of cow’s milk? (Light bulb!) Ben and Jerry’s!
So we wrote a letter to the good people at Ben and Jerry’s, asking them to switch from cow’s milk to breast milk. We explained that using cow’s milk for their ice cream is a hazard to consumers’ health. Even Dr. Spock spoke out against feeding cow’s milk to children, saying it may play a role in the onset of anemia, allergies, and juvenile diabetes and, in the long term, can set kids up for a lifetime of obesity and heart disease (America’s number one cause of death)
But it’s not all about us humans. Animals will also benefit from the switch to breast milk. Because, like all mammals, cows only give milk during or after pregnancy, in order for humans to constantly milk them, they are forcefully impregnated every nine months. Many live in filthy conditions and are forced to give 10 times more milk than they would naturally. It’s truly an awful life.”
If continuously milked a woman will keep making milk without another pregnancy.
