It may be a cliché, but beauty does start on the inside. Here’s an article from AOL Personals which just goes to show how you can look more attractive even without a makeover. All you need to do is be a little bit nicer.

Recent research suggests that individuals who show positive personality traits such as kindness, honesty and helpfulness are perceived as better looking, while those who exhibit negative personality qualities such as unfairness and rudeness appear to be less physically attractive.

It doesn’t matter what your age or gender is. The gist of the study is that the better your personality traits are, the more attractive you will be because – well, being rude is simply unattractive!

Allow me to be a bit mushy here and quote this line from this rom-com flick starring Ben Chaplin, Emma Thompson and Janeane Garofalo. It’s the male lead character giving Abby this speech:

You know how someone’s appearance can change the longer you know them? How a really attractive person, if you don’t like them, can become more and more ugly; whereas someone you might not have even have noticed… that you wouldn’t look at more than once, if you love them, can become the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen. All you want to do is be near them.

I guess the same thing applies even if it’s your first time to meet someone. I may not look like a movie star – but if being super nice gives me plus points in the attractiveness area – then I look like a supermodel! Lol…
