“Eclectically sexy” is the signature Balenciaga look, as described by NY Fashion. The label’s current creative director is Nicolas Ghesquière – and they recently showcased the Balenciaga Spring 2009 Collection at the Paris runway.

Was it futuristic, eclectically sexy or simply an odd mix of unique cuts to cover the body here and there? Judge for yourself as we take a look at the items from the collection.

The collection is a little bit daunting to describe, to say the least. But what I am so loving personally are the shiny, chic bags that the models were clutching in their fabric covered hands – this is a sight that we don’t see too much of anymore.

Aside from the cuts of dresses with the neckline and the sleeves bound together like a straitjacket – there were a lot of uniquely cut fabrics in gleaming, futuristic colors. What stood out at the collection for me, though, are the sophisticated motocross-shaped pants in luxurious fabric.
