Swag has crossed the pond and there was a swag suite at this years Greatest Britons award ceremony! The Greatest Britons is an awards show that recognizes the most creative and successful people from across the UK who have achieved worldwide fame within their professional careers. So even the Brits know that if there is an awards show, a gift suite must be nearby!
So who were the honorees this year? Well, it’s a safe bet to guess that the Greatest Living Britain winner was Her Majesty The Queen, Elizabeth II. The second most famous Brit in the world won the Global Achievement award. Of course it’s Posh’s better half, David Beckham.
Looking to the arts, Helen Mirren won for Film; The Office and Extra’s Ricky Gervais won for Television; Amy Winehouse won for Music (I cannot stop singing Rehab, it rocks); Banksy, known for his graffiti art, was honored for The Arts category; Innocent Smoothies (Richard Reed, Adam Balon and Jon Wright), the ethical juice company, won for Business; Giles Deacon took the Fashion award; Sir Ranulph Fiennes, an adventurer who conquered the Eiger and raised £1 million for charity was honored for his Sportsmanship; and Duncan Goose who raised funds to help provide clean water in African villaged won the Campaigner award.
Thus the swag that the honorees and other VIPs had the opportunity to recieve pales in comparison to the amazing achievements of the award winners, but it’s the small things that make the big things so much more important.
Sinitta, Claire & Duncan Goose, Jimmy Carr, host Kate Thornton, Sophie Ellis-Bexter, Duncan Bannatyne, Giles Deacon and Zandra Rhodes were just some talented folks who popped in to the Sultans of Swag gift lounge…
