Tina Fey…She’s Got It!

Tina Fey…She’s Got It!

By Diana Feather

Tina Fey is the new Hollywood “It” girl. On September 21st Fey received three Emmy Awards for her outstanding writing, acting, and creation of “30 Rock”. One week earlier on “Saturday Night Live” Fey’s first spoof of vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin went down in history as their highest-rated premiere since 2001. She mocked Palin a second time this past Saturday as her co-star Amy Poehler depicted Katie Couric. The two actresses played out the interview that everyone is talking about from CBS’s “Evening News”. Poehler also co-starred in Fey’s recently released DVD of the hit comedy “Baby Mama”, which released at the number one spot in theaters back in April.

What’s Love?

What’s Love?

By Monica Ziebell

What is love? Is love the caressing of each other on the coach watching television being completely happy? Is love being in a marriage that you aren’t happy with, but you stick it out because you made a promise to that person, forever? Is love the moment you first see someone for the first time, and you get that special feeling, “Love at first sight”? Often times people totally get this word “love” mixed up with, lust. We think one is the other, and then we usually get everything all mixed up in the process. I know as I get older I learn the difference from the two. Lust is what usually starts when you meet someone you attracted too. It can develop into a great loving relationship, or it can end up turning into pure hell. It’s all a matter of opinion, and person of how you deal with love or lust.

Mommy Time

Mommy Time

By Rhonda Twitty

As a mother we all want and should put our kids first. We certainly can’t ignore a hungry baby or a scrapped knee. But it is very important that we don’t lose our own identity in our children. We need some mommy time. To me mommy time means a night out with the girls or a day at the spa. We work very hard being moms that we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves. Remember to be better wife and mother then mommy time is vital. That saying about when mommy ain’t happy ain’t no one happy. It is true!

Pregnancy Doesn’t Change Anything for My Husband, But I Wish It Would

Pregnancy Doesn’t Change Anything for My Husband, But I Wish It Would

By Christine Foley

How can husbands be more involved early on in a pregnancy? I adore my husband and, for the most part, he is extremely supportive of everything going on in my life. However, going through our second pregnancy (the first ended in a miscarriage at 14 weeks), it has become very clear to me that not much is changing in his life and a LOT is changing in mine. So what can I do to get him more active in these changes?

Knock Knock! Who’s There? CANCER!

Knock Knock! Who’s There? CANCER!

By Ms. J

I guess I don’t have to tell too many of you how devastating it is to hear that diagnosis. Cancer is at an all time high and tearing families apart. It appears that much emphasis is placed on breast cancer but there are so many other types of cancer taking peoples’ lives as well. Since cancer is not prejudice as to who it will attack, we must all make every attempt to eat healthier, exercise, avoid stress and laugh as often as possible. Do not hesitate to make doctor appointments because you fear what the diagnosis may be. Better to find out sooner than later.

Studies Show That Men Feel More

Studies Show That Men Feel More

By Ines Maric

Good. Now that I’ve caught your attention, I’m going to admit that I completely made up the “study”. Who knows what men think!

I do know what my thoughts are on love, life, dieting, family, parenting, wellness, home improvement, fashion, celebrities, reality shows and ladybugs. This time, I’m only going to cover the love life of one of my closest friends and her choices that made her as miserable as a model who ate the whole chicken before a very important fashion show.

Guilty Moms

Guilty Moms

By Michele Stewart

Ok, here’s the deal. I am a thirty five year old mother and wife. My son is ten years old and has just started the 5th grade. My husband is a great guy. I have been a professional most of my life, I have worked since the age of sixteen. About a year and a half ago I needed to stop working due to some serious family issues. This has worked out great in every area except one, that would be the vitality of our bank account. To be honest it’s almost dead.

Breast Milk Ice Cream???

Breast Milk Ice Cream???

By Mandi Kemp

I’m appalled AND offended! Breast milk ice cream? Proposed by PETA? Do they think that cows get sore nipples from milking and it’s affecting the lives of the “poor cows”? Actually, a quote from the article says “cow’s milk is hazardous and that milking them is cruel” – they have got to be joking…

Feeling in Regards to the Body

Feeling in Regards to the Body

By Vladlena Nyzhnik

How do you feel in regards to your body? You don’t care and see the beauty in your body or you feel pressurized in today’s world by, the amount of media and influences that are plastered, everywhere you look?

First impressions usually matter a lot, and during a first impression you usually just go by the looks. I know its wrong and you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover but that’s how it is in this world!!

The Next Four Letter Word

The Next Four Letter Word

By Samantha Easter

Eavesdropping on a conversation between young women at Starbucks can yield some interesting tidbits on our culture. You can get sex tips, learn about antidepressants and try and decode men. One thing that you most likely won’t hear about is money. Even between the best of friends; salary, credit card debt, and account balances are taboo topics.

Why?

Growing up, whenever I’d ask my grandparents about money they’d say that talking about money is rude, and that is a social concept validated everywhere. Even women’s magazines often don’t touch the subject.
