It’s a London thing

Yeesh! I’m getting Margiela flashbacks from 1997. It’s art. It’s not meant to be taken literally. I get it. But still.

InStyle’s quarterly is coming

Tweet tweet. A little birdy told me our much-loved, content-heavy InStyle magazine is beginning to get vocal about its plans to launch a quarterly new venture, targeted at the younger set.

Apparently it’ll be a 2.0-filled fashion site and offline venture with probable photo-uploads, voting, and sponsored competitions … hmm, is someone in the Valley with some VC cash keeping track of all of

One store, three dresses

From this point forward and until the end of summer, I will consistently be wearing little short dresses. Some with sleeves, some kimono-cut, trapeze shapes, babydolls… you name it, I’ll have it.

Shop Intuition has three of my favorite styles (look for these inspired cuts at cheaper retailers like H&M, Forever 21 etc everywhere).

Kate & Kass Polly Maggoo Dresses $125. Basic but playful. Dress

Spring heeled

While NYC and our friends in DC and London are bundled up, we’re enjoying another gorgeous set of sunny, spring-like days. And so I feel like slipping my feet into pretty flats with new hues and interesting cut-outs.

Falling in love with these Missoni flats, seen at Kitson yesterday ($260 at Zappos).

Designers for Darfur: fashion consciousness

Fashion may be frivolity and one big flight of fancy for some, but the multi-billion dollar industry — beneath all the bull — is full of artists, creators, visionaries and a lot of people trying to use all that big money to raise the cultural consciousness.

Designers for Darfur put on one such show this season. See the collection at NY Mag.

Don’t know about what’s happening in Darfur? Why

LV Shoes

Who doesn’t love LV footwear? (or the idea of it) but these bad boys seal the deal.

Ohmigoodness. Need them! Saw the print ad in this month’s Elle mag. Where can I get them… oh wait, how can I afford them?!?

I’m feeling sandals for spring

There’s definitely a theme to what I’m looking for.

From left: Studio M “Flicker” Sandal, $159; MICHAEL Michael Kors “Trenton” Platform Sandal, $95.99; Frye “Iris 2 Piece” Pump, $150. All available at Macy’s.

Right, I gotta go make pretty before a week of visitors, dates and all kinds of good things (smug so smug).

Proenza Schouler time at Target

My Target fever has been seriously waning for quite some time but the adorable Proenza Schouler boys’ line went live and I couldn’t miss the enormous promotional poster on my way to work the other morning, so I thought I’d check it out.

I don’t really like any of the separates but this line is a good example of how to put a look together. Get inspired. Dig through your own wardrobe and pair

IQONS, another profile to maintain

While I was enjoying being unplugged for the web as much as possible this week, a new niche network called IQONS went live. Well, beta live.

Apparently, it’s “fashion set free” which sounds like one of those lofty site blurbs that is at one profound and yet totally meaningless.

They’ve got tags, Flickr-meets-Marumushi image maps, inline mail and instant messaging, profiles, galleries … all the

New obsession, Metromint

I know we’ve talked about this stuff before but I am totally addicted and I just spent waaay too much grocery money stocking up on the stuff — Metromint water absolutely rocks. Spearmint is definitely my favorite. It’s perfect for getting your head workout-ready and for morning/coffee breath (which I know we ladies don’t generally discuss).
