I know it sounds crazy, but have you ever thought about strapping a gigantic fan to your back? Maybe to make it ultra nerdcool you could control it with a Power Glove. Yeah! I think that the guys at ThrustPac had the same idea, except that they actually built one. It looks kind of like a jetpack, but minus all that dangerous fire and flying around. There are some videos on the ...

I hate baths. You're either a bath or a shower person, I reckon. It's a secret rivalry. Lying in your own filth while waiting for a potential spider appearance isn't my idea of fun. CES exhibitors, Atlantic, are bath people. They've created a great waterproof iPod case and speaker system named EGO. Atlantic showed me the case floating around a small pool of water, blaring out tunes with a very slight aqua theme, Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head, ...

You know how whenever you take a photo of your pup (or cat), their eyes have this weird, otherworldly glow in the photos? Spooky.
Kodak announced at CES that it had developed a system to remove "glow eyes" from pet pictures -- but it won't be available until later this year.
Red-eye removal for photos of humans is now standard inside almost every manufacturer’s digital cameras. As pets are the second most photographed subject, it makes sense to develop a built-in ...

There was a long line at CES for the "gaming chair" and everyone seemed to want to do just one thing -- race a Formula One very, very fast. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Unlike other gaming chairs, this D-Box chair, dubbed the GP-100, doesn’t simply vibrate in synch with game play, it actually moves as well, tilting and rocking. I was getting dizzy just watching. The secret is the chair’s motion actuators. They resemble shock absorbers that ...

Got someone pointing a gun at you? Just give him flowers and you could witness a miraculous change of heart. Don’t agree? Well, maybe designers from SUCK UK would. And their gun vases are proof. These porcelain vases look quite chic and are shaped in the form of pristine white – if you haven’t guessed yet – guns. And you have to do nothing out of the usual – fill the barrels with water, place your flowers ...

The iPhone is now a reality, and it looks like a very handy device running an embedded form of OS X. By combining all the best features taken from Palm, Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Apple's own iPod, the company has created a device that doesn't do everything, but does all the fun stuff very well. This could just be the single device that a lot of us have wanted, but be prepared to wait. The ...

Discovered are my new Dutch best friends. Admittedly, I've only met about 6 people from Holland in my life, but these guys are right at the top. They're the company who've created easyCover, a new silicon case designed for digital compact cameras. What's special about this cover, other than protecting your camera, is the way it protects your lens. No cap is necessary, instead it has slits in the case, much like a pizza, or those things you get ...

French designer Grégoire Vandenbussche created the Klop filtering ashtray to show the effect of smoke on our environment. The plant leaves catch most of the toxic smoke and slowly turns brown. If anything is going to help you stop smoking, this might be it. Check out his wonderful website at greg-garden.

Those crazy kids at Dynamism sent me an email to say that they have the OQO Model O2 available for preorder. OQO had originally placed an entire PC, QWERTY keyboard and all, into a package the size of my open palm, and now they've redesigned the device to address the problems in the first model. The entire machine measures 5.6 x 3.3 x 1.0in (142 x 84 x 25mm), and at less than one pound it's ...

Two chaps from Built NY decided to man their CES booth this year in orange boiler suits. I'm not sure what they were expecting, but I was safe in the knowledge that they were prepared for whatever it was. They calmly expressed their excitement about their new Electric line, which made me feel strangely safe. If any crisis arose during my 2-minute chat with them, I knew I was in good hands. The item they introduced was their ...
