Just as my blogging prep was just getting going, we lost Internet connection here at Lipped Media / Style Spotlight HQ. (I sound important there, huh?) Bad cable, bad.

And we’re up! But photos and information roll out and are found at a frustrating speed. Publishers: Red Carpet photos mean nothing without labeling the designers to the gowns! Bloggers don’t have time to research, and my memory is poor.

When absolutely no one published that information, I got very tired and took my bratty and too-focused-for-my-own-good self away to party.

I’m back now to find as I left, the answer published.

And the winning website which answered "Who was Maggie Gylenhaal wearing?" is … People.com! My constant go-to, already! <3

I love it. Backless gowns are predicted to be a trend for Oscars this year. I like to think we’re all honoring the very sexy Justin. I’ve got one sexy back for him right over here.

Oh – yeah – anyway! This does look very elegant, sexy and beautiful on the ladies. I can’t wait to see all the looks!

Rumor has it that Meryl Streep will not even attend the Oscars due to a scheduled surgery (knee or something, don’t worry). Not only do I think she should go, but I would implore her to fabu up her attire for this year’s Academy Awards.

Generally she might wear something like the suit in the first picture below, Giorgio Armani. Mature (read: old), relaxed, and boring.

To celebrate her fabulous and fun role and her great performance (although she, who basically had a supporting role, imo, doesn’t give as fierce competition as her character’s personality) she should vamp it up a bit. Go a little younger, with fashionista-flair details, such as shoulder adornments done right, a sharp color, metallic or bling and a great stylish skirt – elements found in the last two pictures, Valentino and another Armani, respectively.

Meryl, I hope you stay healthy and pain-free and enjoy Oscar season. You would (or will) lighten up the room Sunday night, because your portrayal and your film were so sharp and fun. It’s one of my favs of last year. You deserve some more fun that night, and to know you still look good – you played the editor of Vogue er Runway(!) for god’s sake!

Britney, I want to help you. I want you back to where you once were, or god forbid, moving forward in maturity.

What’s this you’re wearing? This look is not right … for anyone.

Now I’m not going to call you fat or overweight, I am not in the position. But it does seem that you’ve been yo-yoing a lot, which I can fully understand. I won’t say you need to lose weight, but you need to dress for whatever body you have, and remember that you are now 26, not 21.

Those thighs … should not hang out. Please wear longer skirts or jeans (god forbid, once more) when out at night. I want to see you in lots of leggings, leggings all the time with shorter dresses (not short, shortER). And always keep in mind you have to hold your large boobs in. I like you in your old funky style, so you can wear bold, colorful prints.

For accessories: jewelry; Opt for indie designers for one-of-a-kind pieces to reflect your individuality. Diamonds somehow don’t work on you, keep it light and don’t over do anything.

Shoes; try – and stick to – high design and daintier looks. Look sophisticated or up-to-date, even at clubs. Inspire envy in your footwear, for god’s sake. And my goodness, MATCH your outfit with your shoes! Note: they’re called “evening” shoes for a reason. Christian Louboutin may just be your brand.

Bags; wear a bag, always wear a bag. Carry fabulous, bold yet classy bags. My god woman!

This year’s Super Bowl ads were pretty snoozy, but the winning product with lots of hilarious and smart spots was hands down – Bud Light.
