Gocco--Something that months ago meant nothing, is now a part of my everyday vocabulary, especially right now while I am plagued with the question "to gocco or not to gocco". As I have previously posted ( and I'm sure I will post more of) FI and I are planning on making our own invitations/menus/place cards...etc. Even though I have been "anti" gocco before, I felt with the new set of projects, perhaps it was time to revisit the "gocco". ...
Miss Alexandria's stories:
I had never really thought about "Letters" You know The large Initial of your first name , and A large initial of your FI's first name---Although I loved the final look, I didn't think they would be worth adding to the budget..that was until I stumbled across these Moss Letters on StylemePretty
^ I love the way the moss letters look on the door, with the ribbon, classic and beautiful!
I immediately googled "moss covered letters" and ...
DIY---My fiance just realized the other day what DIY stood for--I was making a list of DIY projects and he was quietly sitting there .....I had to call Momma Alexandria to ask about a DIY I had seen in a magazine that I really liked while on the phone with her I must have said the phrase "Do it Yourself" because when I hung up FI was grinning like a little kid waiting to tell me something..."yes dear" I asked ...
Yes I know its probably a little late in the planning process to be talking about my color scheme, I mean I am getting married in 190 days ( the knot tracker is helpful :) ). But I have been having second thoughts about my color scheme...I love burgundy, and I think its a great fall color, however my problem has been what to pair with it. Green ( even the light colors) are too christmasy, I'm not a fan ...
So I know you all have heard me post about this a few times, but now its getting down to crunch time...a lil more than 6 months till the wedding, I want these dresses figured out and preferably ordered by the end of March..I think that gives us a good amount of time! So like I said I have 2 MOH's so on Monday I made a PowerPoint presentation of about 25-30 dresses for the girls that I liked. Than ...
As you can see from the above picture, I just got back from California ( that is actually a picture of Tahoe) it was a good trip, long time being away from the FI but as they say Distance makes the heart grow fonder :) Now I'm back and just less than 7 months till the wedding day...yesterday was exactly 7 months. I am meeting with our florist again on Monday to go over our budget...I have had to ...
I don't really like Valentines day...I know I know , I am probably construed as "anti-romantic" for that previous statment, but its true, I find valentines day to be a manufactured holiday. I would prefer FI to just randomly give me chocolates, or flowers or sweet cards, it doesnt matter if I get something on February 14th! However to totally contradict what I just wrote, this year I am going away on a mini-vacation with some of my girl ...
What is the answer? As I previously posted, transportation has been a big issue for FI and I. We have the bridal party/our transportation/and our parents transportation figured out, however its trying to figure out the "other" guests that the issue arrises.
Do we really need to pay $650 (the cheapest price we have found so far) for a large shuttle to transport guests from there hotel, to georgetown back to the reception. At first I thought ...
Momma Alexandria was in town this weekend, she actually had a conference in Charlostville, but she stopped in to say hi to her favorite daughter ( only daughter :) ) and to go visit a florist.
As I had mentioned in a previous post, I was 99% sure I had my florist, Barbara from Growing Wild Floral , I just loved her, her flowers, everything was so beautiful I was sure I had found "the one". However, Mama Alexandria being ...
I'm not sure how many people there are like me out there, but I feel I can't be too rare. I have my best Friends from HS, My best Friends from College and My best friends from the "real world". Now in each of these groups there are about 2-3 Core friends, not to mention the 5-6 peripheral friends. However, take 2-3 core friends in each group and you have a pretty large bridal party.
At first ...
Hello! I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas! I am currently in Naples Florida, after getting up at 3:30am this morning for the plane ride from Rochester NY, I am pretty exhausted right now, but I am at my parents place and have access to the Internet for the first time in a couple of days, so I wanted to wish my fellow nearly weds a happy holidays :)
FI and I had our engagement party this past Saturday, it ...
So my sister-in-law and a close family friend are throwing an engagement party for FI and I Dec 22nd. We know the date is a lil crazy, but the engagement party is for close family and friends, so we are still expecting a pretty good turn out. They went all out with this engagement party, even doing custom invitations and having it at a very nice country club in upstate New York, I am very appreciative of there gesture, and ...
As I stated before, this past weekend was Wedding Weekend Mania! My mom and aunt came to D.C and we spent 80% of the time going to different bridal salons, visiting with our caterer, looking at hotels, and checking out the space of our venue...I will be sharing these posts the rest of the week, but I wanted to start out today how I started out the weekend, talking about Hannelore's.
I know a couple of the ...
I've always had the picture in my head, walking down the aisle, FI seeing me for the first time, the look on his face, it gives me goosebumps thinking about it!However, after talking with photographers and reading other web sites I am starting to see the appeal of taking pictures before hand. Not only do you save time after the wedding, so you can better enjoy the cocktail reception with your guests, but if you are having a late wedding, ...
