I’m often amused by the word hobo, especially when it’s used to describe an insanely luxurious handbag like this Versace Monogram Hobo. This glitzy number comes in your choice of powder blue and silver or white and gold logo jacquard with grained metallic leather and suede trim. In other words, it’s ridiculously fabulous. I’m all for “handbags as art,” but this Lulu Guinness Hotel Large Edith handbag is just plain silly. The white canvas bucket bag with cool green trim is printed with the image of a Plaza-like hotel, and it all comes off as a bit “children’s bedtime story.” Is anyone else reminded of Eloise? Save the illustrations for artists, Lulu, and stick to making handbags that a woman can actually carry without cringing.
