No Shocker: Larry Birkhead the Father of Dannielynn!

DNA tests show Anna Nicole Smith ’s former boyfriend Larry Birkhead is the father of her baby, and he emerged from a court hearing Tuesday to proclaim that his daughter would soon be home.

Birkhead jubilantly announced the DNA results after the closed hearing, and then hugged his rival, Howard K. Stern. The reality TV star’s lawyer-turned-companion has been caring for baby Dannielynn since Smith’s sudden death in February.

Stern said he would not fight for custody.

“I’m obviously very disappointed but my feelings toward Dannielynn have not changed,” Stern said, adding Birkhead can come to his Bahamas home to visit Dannielynn at any time.

A joyous Birkhead said, “My baby’s going to be coming home pretty soon.”

Even Smith’s mother, Virgie Arthur, who had also sought custody, seemed appeased by the DNA results. “I’m happy that Dannielynn will know who her real father is,” she said outside court.

An expert in genetic evidence said DNA analysis proved Birkhead is Dannielynn’s father. Dr. Michael Baird, who analyzed the results of a March 21 DNA test, announced the results outside court. “Essentially, he’s the biological father,” Baird said.

Birkhead, a Los Angeles photographer, began seeking custody before Smith collapsed and died in a Florida hotel Feb. 8.

The baby, whose full name is Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern, could inherit millions from the estate of Smith’s late husband, J. Howard Marshall II. The former model had been fighting the Texas oil tycoon’s family over his estimated $500 million fortune since his death in 1995.

Truly, I am happy for Birkhead… he obviously loves Dannilynn very much. Hopefully the circus for this poor little girl is over.

Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis was arrested Tuesday in Florida.

The U.S. Marshal’s Office in Panama City, Florida said that Francis, 34, was arrested at 6:30 a.m. at the Panama City airport on a warrant seeking his arrest for criminal contempt of court.

He is currently being held at the Bay County jail, a spokesman for the U.S. Marshal’s Office says.

Although Francis told Fox News’s Geraldo Rivera on Monday that he would surrender to authorities, the arrest was carried out by airport police who recognized him before he could present himself to the Marshal’s Office.

A judge ordered Francis’s arrest last week after Francis reportedly changed the terms of a settlement deal stemming from a 2003 lawsuit in which seven women accused him of victimizing them by filming them in sexual situations while they were on spring break in Panama City.

Francis was ordered by U.S. District Judge Richard Smoak to surrender to authorities in Panama City by noon Thursday to begin serving jail time for contempt of court, the city’s News Herald reported. But sources told PEOPLE that Francis missed the deadline.

According to the News Herald, Francis told Rivera on Monday: “I’m not trying to hide at all. I’m on my way to Florida right now to turn myself in and comply with the judge’s order. I would never run from justice.”

Don Imus Benched Two Weeks for Racial Comments

Radio host Don Imus, suspended for two weeks for calling the Rutgers female basketball players “nappy-headed hos,” called the punishment appropriate Tuesday but stressed, “I am not a racist.”

“What I did was make a stupid, idiotic mistake in a comedy context,” Imus said on his show Tuesday morning, the final week before his suspension starts.

Asked by NBC “Today” host Matt Lauer if he could clean up his act as he promised on Monday, he said, “Well, perhaps I can’t.” But he added, “I have a history of keeping my word.”

The radio host tried to shift some of the focus from himself, saying, “that phrase originated in the black community. … I may be a white man, but I know that these young women and young black women all through that society are demeaned and degraded by their own black men and that they are called that name.”

Imus said his staff had been trying to set up a meeting with the Rutgers players to apologize, but he said he didn’t expect forgiveness. Of the two-week suspension by MSNBC and CBS Radio, he said: “I think it’s appropriate, and I am going to try to serve it with some dignity.”

Members of the Rutgers team and coach C. Vivian Stringer planned to speak publicly about the comments later Tuesday.

The Rev. Al Sharpton also appeared on “Today” and called the suspension “not nearly enough. I think it is too little, too late.” He said presidential candidates and other politicians should refrain from going on Imus’ show in the future.

Paris Hilton Sicks Her Lawyer on a Blogger!

Paris Hilton’s lawyer obviously has no idea who he is representing!

Hilton had her lawyer, Gregory Gabriel, attack one of our favorite fellow bloggers, Michael K of Dlisted.com, after he posted a parody of “The Simple Life” poster on his site making fun of Hilton and her pal Nicole Richie.

Gabriel wrote to Michael K:

“This poster clearly implies Ms. Hilton has loathsome diseases and also implies Ms. Hilton uses Vicodin. The inferences . . . are false and defamatory.”

Gabriel demanded the image be removed from the Web site. But he should check the press clips. Hilton was embarrassed earlier this year when contents of her long-forgotten storage locker were posted on the Web, which included a prescription in her name for Valtrex, the drug used to combat genital herpes, and Richie has admitted to abusing Vicodin.

Sounds like a parody on facts, if you ask me.
