Today I left San Francisco and headed south. My first stop was Monterey Bay and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. On the way out, I travelled Highway 1 (also known as the Pacific Coast Highway) along the Pacific Ocean. I stopped mid-afternoon at San Simeon and Hearst Castle. I couldn't get a tour ticket for Hearst Castle today so I got one for tomorrow morning and opted to stay in town. I got
Bunny has left on a jet plane and we won't be seeing each other again until I return home. But while in flesh-and-blood she has left, she remains in spirit and in the form of a miniature stuffed pink rabbit. With that in mind, pictures of Bunny continue.
On another note, I have a free night in SF and I actually have no idea what to do. I may just spend it in, which seems a waste. ...
For whatever weird reason, a couple of us in the office were talking about using the phrase "the down low," when I was told there is a gay definition for this phrase--a very specific gay definition.
The down low is when "men in heterosexual relationships have sex with other men unbeknownst to their wives or girlfriends." Even more specific I was told by a coworker, white gays usually reserve this
Not too long ago I interviewed local jam entrepreneur Carolina Braunschweig over at Bay Area Bites. You can find her yummy jams all over and they are just now making their debut at Macy's Cellar in New York.
Carolina's jam company, CMB Sweets is holding a contest to rename one of their products--a perfect pear vanilla butter. Come up with the winning name and win some jam!

A little gallows humor:
Q: "So, what are you doing for Labor Day?"
A: "Evacuating!"
Oh no! I just made alterations to the survey, and in doing so inadvertently deleted ALL RESPONSES TO #10, the open-ended question.
Please, if you already filled out the survey and answered this question, if you could, please just answer #10 again. I feel so silly. =( Just once more if you already answered...no mistakes this time. I've learned the tool.

Since I started this vacation, I haven't been reading news or blogs or anything. I feel so out of the loop.
Today, we went to Haight-Ashbury and walked around the area. We then visited Chinatown and I went to North Beach and Lombard Street while Bunny went to an appointment. In the evening, we met up with Sarah's parents for dinner at a restaurant called the Slanted Door at the Embarcadero and
Last night, Red Beard and I both got off work at a decent hour. I brought home some blue marlin steaks, and Red Beard brought the Spanish rice. First we went down to the gym for some cardio, then we cooked up dinner. I felt like we were easing back in synch, and the tension lingering from earlier in the week was finally breaking.
This morning, after reading a few very insightful comments on the last post, I was especially ...
Luckily, since the breakup with NavyMan I have found a new love-hate relationship to fill my nights: my graduate thesis on Web 2.0 collaborative technologies (like wikis and blogs).
If you have time, can you please fill out this SurveyMonkey survey? 10 multiple-choice questions, that's it. Nothing like having a completely skewed dataset by advertising using the technology one is exploring. ;)
As for this blog, I will begin writing again soon. My sense of humor for ...
Things have been a little hectic at Beauty Addict HQ, and I'll be back soon with new beauty posts. But for now, please enjoy this lovely photo of Victoria Beckham:
No, it's not photoshopped - just the camera flash reflecting in her eyes. Devilish, isn't it?

Busy day in San Francisco. A family friend of Bunny's took us around town and showed us obscure sights that aren't on the popular tours. It was very cool. We stopped by Muir Woods before getting to the city. Upon driving in on the Golden Gate Bridge, we went to the 826 Valencia charity store and then we parked and walked around Fisherman's Wharf and the Embarcadero. Pictures follow.

Cheese on the BBQ might sound strange, but that’s what we are going to explore today - as well as some other ways you might use Halloumi cheese. Halloumi is a cheese indigenous to Cyprus. I think it is traditionally a mix of goat and sheep milk (anyone out there a specialist in Greek cheeses?), but the halloumi I normally come across here in San Francisco is made just with sheep's milk. One of the things that makes this cheese ...

Visit my Myspace page and watch me read a seven-minute snippet of "Swim," one of the short stories in THE GUY NOT TAKEN.
Better yet, watch the ad for the book, starring Susan Bott, aka the Swiffer Lady!
On Thursday, September 14 at 1 p.m. I'm doing an online chat with Jane Magazine. Ask me anything!
That night, I'm reading from THE GUY NOT TAKEN at the Columbus Circle Borders at 7 p.m.. The reading just might be ...
Last night after work, I was feeling riled up about The Invitation so I called Julie to vent. I told her that I have so many issues, my issues have issues - or for a variation on that old joke, I have more issues than Newsweek.
I told her how I was wary of needlessly taking this out on Red Beard. “I don’t want to confuse the issue, because really, it’s not worth getting mad at Red Beard for something Bozo ...
