In Hollywood, it’s pretty rare for a woman to take over a man’s role or vice versa. Unless you consider a cross-dressing John Travolta in “Hairspray” - but that’s another story.

Guess which female powerhouse managed to take over a role who’s supposed to be played by bigwig Tom Cruise? No other than the mother of six and not-yet-Mrs.Brad Pitt- Angelina Jolie.

After her amazing take as Fox in the blockbuster hit “Wanted”, Angelina will replace Tom’s lead role in Edwin A. Salt. Not only is the supposed male lead being replaced by Angelina – but the entire script is being changed to fit a female main character, too!

Negotiations are still ongoing – but the deal is as close as done. It will be a breath of fresh air to see the new mom in another kick-ass action movie after seeing her soft side in all those adorable million-dollar family pics that they have on People mag, after she gave birth to Vivienne and Knox last month.
