High School Musical 3 garnered a $42M gross on its first showing week – while Changeling earned $0.5M also for its first week of showing. So does that make “Changeling” a flop? Hardly! It’s because High School Musical 3 has a giant release, occupying 3623 theaters – while the Angelina-starrer is shown on a limited release of 15 theaters.
In fact, the figures make the average earnings of “Changeling” $32.6K per theater – while HSM only averaged $11.6K per theater. That’s quite a feat!

Will Changeling be opening in more theaters? I would like to see it…but I will probably wait till the DVD release!
