8 Wacky Beauty Treatments ...

In the pursuit of beauty (or profits), manufacturers and salons come up with ever more weird and wonderful ways of making us look younger and improving our skin and body… allegedly. Here are some beauty tricks that you should try at your own risk.

1. The Bed of Nails

1
To quote the reporter, ‘My skin feels as if I’ve just hurled myself backwards into a seething pit of hedgehogs’. I say ‘Ow ow ow ow OWWWWWW!’

2. The Derma Roller

2
Designed to improve the appearance of your face. Don’t ask me how I know this, but I believe this implement is used by certain people to inflict pain on other parts of your body. Hmmm.

3. Fish

Yes, fish. Not eating it, not taking fish oil capsules, but dipping your tootsies in a bowlfull of ‘Doctor fish’. These tiny creatures feed on dead flesh, and the treatment is said to help those who suffer from eczema and other skin diseases. Not for the ticklish or anyone who’s seen ‘Piranha’.

I also have tried the doctor fish. It is really ticklish but those fish only eats dead skin cells in our body and I love to do it again.

      Hattie says:
I tried it before, but it was in China where there are less safety regulations and it was a gigantic swimming pool. I plonked myself down on the bottom and stuck my head out to ... See more breathe, and after about 5 minutes of not moving they started swarming around me. It feels like a tiny pinch each time they take a bite, but after about 15 minutes I lifted my arm out of the water, dried it off, and it was so baby smooth! I couldn’t believe it :P They concentrate on trouble areas or places where your skin is thick so I had clouds of them on my feet and where I had eczema. It really works!
