Green Tea

Green tea is becoming increasingly popular, especially as a means of energy and weight loss. This type of tea uses leaves that are unoxidized, which means that, after they are picked, they are heated up. That gets rid of any oxidizing enzymes. Green tea is great when you need antioxidants, and it is an extremely healthy alternative.

Black Tea

Black tea is maybe the most common tea, and there are several varieties of it. However, they all have a lot in common. These teas go through a natural process for oxidation, and they act as something of a pick-me-up as well.

Chamomile Tea

Chamomile tea is a common and popular choice as well. It is one of the more widely used herbal teas, and for good reason. It has many soothing properties, making it helpful for a number of different problems. For instance, it can help to soothe stress and anxiety when you are tense, because it actually works as a natural kind of sedative. As such, it also helps with insomnia, sleeplessness, and restlessness.

Ginger Tea

Ginger tea is – oh man, I hate it. I think it tastes awful, because I'm not a huge fan of that much ginger. I drink it anyway, though, just pour in lots of sugar, because this type of tea is extremely helpful with digestive problems. It can soothe an upset stomach super fast. Between you and me, it also does wonders with monthly cramps.

Valerian Tea

Valerian tea is another kind of herbal tea. It works as a natural tranquilizer, and as a result, it has many healing and soothing powers. If you're tense, have insomnia, feel anxious, or even suffer from headaches, it can help you. However, unlike chamomile tea, it won't make you feel dull or drowsy.

This kind of tea is very aromatic, thanks to essential oils in high concentrations. This tea is believe to have a number of medicinal qualities. Here's a protip: it's actually known as Salvia officinalis, i.e. it's the same thing miss Miley Cyrus recently caught smoking. When you don't smoke it, however, it's curative rather than hallucinogenic, and can help thin mucus, work as an antiseptic, and can even help with profuse sweating.

Juniper tea is another helpful kind of herbal tea. Specifically, if you are prone to bloating, such as while you're on your period, this tea can help take care of that. It is also known to ease inflamed bladders, which is extremely helpful.

Dandelion Tea

Dandelion is more medicinal, healthy, and helpful than most people think, primarily due to the fact that the blossoms contain things like calcium and potassium. As a result, dandelion tea is also tremendously helpful. It helps digestion in a number of ways, and can be especially healthy if you drink it after you've eaten a really heavy meal.

There are many other types of teas, and all of them do different things. In terms of taste, I always like wild berry teas, typically in loose leaf form. What kind of tea do you like best?

Wow, thanks for this article. I found it really helpful! Besides green tea, black tea, and chamomile tea, where would one find the more unusual teas?

After reading this post suddenly I realized that I am obssesed with different teas. I love them.

Lemon or apple or black currant juice makes high concentrations of ginger much more palatable. Adding a pinch of cinnamon helps even more.
