8 All-Natural Summer Remedies for Your Hair …

Summer is truly a tough time for our hair - it can easily become frizzy, dehydrated, and weathered by the sun and dry wind. Today, I will share with you my secrets of summer hair care: right diet and all-natural homemade masks, which will help you improve appearance of hair and make it look sexy, shiny, thick, and fabulous!

Hair Diet:

  1. As hair is made of protein, your diet should include plenty of natural meat, fish, and dairy products.
  2. Decreasing the amount of carbs (especially wheat and other gluten-containing grains) will improve scalp disorders, like seborrhea or dandruff.
  3. Liberal amounts of organic butter and coconut oil in your diet will provide essential lubrication and moisture to the hair.

Natural hair beauty masks:

Homemade masks, whipped up with just a few simple and easy to find herbs, oils, and other natural ingredients, will nourish, strengthen, and rejuvenate your hair. Make hair masks your weekly routine. Apply them freshly-made, massage into the scalp, let stay for 30-40 minutes, and then rinse with warm camomile water and mild shampoo.

  1. Ayurvedic mask
made of equal amounts of freshly-squeezed lemon juice and olive oil, will greatly improve dry hair and give it instant shine.
  2. Russian mask
made of yogurt or buttermilk, will prevent dandruff, strengthen the roots, and give your hair wonderful shine and softness.
  3. Mediterranean mask
made of egg yolks mixed with liquid honey, will deep condition your hair, stimulate the roots, and sooth the scalp.
  4. Cleopatra’s mask
made of white clay or red mud, is extremely effective against weak and dull hair.
  5. Philippine mask
made of extra-virgin coconut oil mixed with palm wine (or cognac) is helpful against split hair.

Take a good care of your hair with these gorgeous, all-natural remedies, and even in the driest summer days your hair will look brilliant and silky soft - as a wonderful expression of your beauty and individuality!

I used to make the Mediterranean mask every now and then, the effect was tremendous, it worked especially great on the dyed hair, the mask gave it a wonderful healthy shine.

I made a mask of egg yolks ones, the smell was just terrible, at least i could not take it, had to wash my hair a couple of times right after that, maybe it would have been different with honey?

too much exposure to sunlight can also damage the hair

I agree…I bleach my hair periodically and was experiencing extreme dryness and breakage…i make masks now regularly with a generous mixture of eggs, olive oil, honey, and cognac. I massage it in and leave it on my head for 1-2 hours. The smell is terrible, but it washes out easily and hair becomes very soft and shiny…brings it back to life!!! I highly reccomend this mask!!! :)

How do I apply cocomut milk and how long should it stay on my hair. Isnt it a little messy?

  11. 11 Olga Moore, 08/4/08 at 9:14 am

oh, no, it won’t be messy at all, especially if you stay in the bath. You should keep it on for 30 minutes and than rinse it and wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner.

    Hi Helen 212,

I actually use a concotion that makes my hair soft and it seals the split ends. It’s a mask made of honey, egg yolks, olive oil, and a ripe mashed avocado. Wrap you hair in a towel for a min. of 30 mins prior to washing and rinsing. You will enjoy the effect.

I’m African American with natural hair which I usually allow to air dry and flat iron.

I get lots of compliments on my hair.

I would really like to thank you and I would be grateful if you send me a rcipe for treating hairloss in a short period of time

    to Sewar:

    Hi,

Saw Palmetto Extract would be your best bet, if you are looking for an all natural remedy. There is a definite connection between the prostate and hair loss for men. Saw Palmetto works against both - prostate problems and hair loss. You could also try Nettle Root Extract, Rosemary and Sage. But if I were you, I’d start using Rogaine as fast as possible. I heard this thing really works!

    Good luck to you.
