7 Reasons Not to Get a Divorce ...

I will admit it, there are some good and bad reasons for divorce. I am going to make this a positive post by giving you 7 reasons not to get a divorce. Personally, I do not believe in getting a divorce. I know, it’s easy for me to say, but I think things will always be worth working out on my end. I mean, sure, if you have a cheating partner, it may be difficult to get through, but we’re not the cheating type – we keep to ourselves.

Finances

Some will tell you that finances get worse when you get divorced. I’m not really sure about this one, but it does make since. It’s a lot easier to handle things together, instead of handling things by yourself. However, money is not the only reason you should stay together.

It Costs

Oh goodness does it cost! Have you looked at just how much a divorce will cost you? Then, you have to look at the cost of an attorney and all of that good stuff that comes along with it. Do you think it’s worth it? Perhaps working things out would be the best option.

You’ll Be Dating Again

I would not like this one. When you’ve been married for so long, it will be hard to get out there in the dating game again. If you get a divorce, then you will more than likely end up dating again. Then, you will have to learn about an individual all over again, when you already went through it once.

Working with the Current Situation Might Be Easier

I think working with the current situation might be easier. I mean, think about all it takes to get a divorce. This would definitely be a reason not to get it.

For Your Health

When you get a divorce, you will be going through a lot of stress in your life and this is not good for your health. Arguing isn’t good for your health either. Therefore, the two of you need to find a solution to work things out.

For the Children

If you can’t see eye to eye for yourselves, then do it for the children. Children who go through divorced parents tend to go through a lot of other bad things in life such as depression, stress and you may even notice their grades dropping. So, try to find a solution, for them.

You Love Each Other

Last but not least, the one reason not to get a divorce would be because you still love each other. As long as the love is still there, then it is still worth fixing.

Those, in my opinion, are 7 reasons not to get a divorce. I believe that before you go through a divorce, you at least need to try to work things out between the both of you. There is always options of marriage counselling. So, do you have any other reasons you could add to this list?

Simple: do not get married at the first place

I wouldn't want to put my kids through that. It makes me so sad when my students that I teach can't even remember if they're supposed to go to their moms house or their dads. you should just be super careful before you get married in the first place.

I agree shakira, it's so sad that they even have to think about that. I think it's horribly corrupt to cheat on your partner esspecially when you have kids.

Great post that everyone should read. The only possible way I would ever consider getting a divorce is if my partner was cheating and I didn't have kids. My uncle did that and the girl he's been dating for 10 years since can't marry him because he was married once before. That's another reason not to. Or just because god said it was wrong. Anyway, I love the post. Rock on:)
