For each person you invite to your wedding, you are increasing the price you will be paying. Not just in the catering costs, but also in the extra centerpieces and rentals. As a rule of a thumb, do not invite any individual that you have not had contact with in five years.

If possible, have your wedding on a weeknight. Even having your wedding on a Sunday would be a good idea. Of course, this is only if you have to pay for the building. There is less of a demand for these days and you may get a better rate this way. I had my wedding on a Friday next to a lake on a base, but it didn’t cost me money for the pavilion. Maybe you could find something like this that is free.

Why do you want to spend so much on those wedding invitations? Instead of those expensive engraved wedding invitations, go for the cheap ones. If you have a printer and a computer at home, then you could always make your own invitations.

The Flowers

It would be a great idea to choose flowers that are in seasons during the time of your wedding. To save even more money, choose flowers that are locally grown. You may also want to avoid having a wedding around a holiday as the prices of flowers usually go up around this time.

Music
Music is always a must have at a wedding. Instead of hiring a live band, you could always play songs straight from a CD. If you absolutely have to have a live band, then you could save money by finding a student musician.

The Dress
You don’t have to have the latest and newest dress of the season. Believe it or not, you can find a beautiful second hand dress. You could look in thrift shops for this. You could also look on eBay or post an ad on places such as Craigslist.
