Don’t we all love a home-made cake! Imagine that gorgeous smell wafting through your house … Here are some of my favorite cakes, with recipes for you to try (all in UK quantities, so anyone else will have to ‘translate’!)
1. Carrot cake
There are lots of variations on this theme, some with cream cheese icing and some without. My own preference is to leave off the icing, but I’ve found a recipe with it, so you can please yourself.
2. Banana cake
My mum has a great recipe for banana bread. I could eat huge wedges of this fantastic cake. It’s not too sweet, but very satisfying.
3. Ginger cake
A classic cake, and for a very good reason – it’s just so tasty. I once tried an egg-less recipe and it worked beautifully. So here’s a recipe for vegans or people with allergies.
