3 Step. No Hot, Spicy, Salty …
Abstain from eating any hot, spicy, or salty foods for as long as your lips are still dry, cracked, and painful.
4 Step. Stay Home …
Avoid going outside if the weather is dry and windy. If you must, use a generous amount of natural oil to protect your lips from unfriendly environment.
5 Step. Be patient …
It may take up to a week for your lips to heal completely. In the meanwhile, be sweet and compassionate to yourself and make your boyfriend prepare a comforting dessert with a delicious and relaxing warm drink. Indulge in pampering your taste buds and forget for awhile about your chapped lips! :)

I have chapped lips I dont have vesline or chapstick I dont know what to use. I cant take one more day with chapped lips please help me.
Hunter,
Run out to the nearest store and buy some lip balm now! In the meantime, you can use honey, a slice of cucumber, aloe vera gel or mix together 1 tsp glycerine, 1 tsp lemon juice and 1 tsp of castor oil and leave it on overnight. Keep yourself hydrated and do NOT lick your lips often. The saliva evaporates quickly and leaves your lips drier than before. Me thinks it would be easier to buy some vaseline instead :)
I have dry lips that peel. What should i do about them b/c of course when it peels, i peel it and it makes it worse! I’m constantly applying Burts Bees or Kiss my Face chapstick but it’s not working. How do i prevent them from peeling?

Heaven,
There’s some great advice in the comments section. Read through them. I’m sure you’ll find something that can work for you. :)
Isn´t petroleum jelly the main ingredient in Vaseline, a “petroleum product”, which you recommend and not recommend within the space of about 10 lines?
Nao,
I’m not sure I get your question. But Vaseline always worked for me!
I was playing street hockey & got hit with the stick on my bottom lip …. didn’t bleed so I didn’t make a big deal & forgot about it ….. 3-4 weeks have gone by and the redness & dryness have not gone away – - I have tried vaseline & chapstick – - doesn’t work – - skin underneath my bottom lip is dry, itchy & scaly (whatever i put on ends up drying up & becoming flaky) ….. I don’t have insurance to see a professional …… please help!
24soCal,
I wish I could give you medical advice but I can’t. Have you tried ice though? That should soothe any injury. If it persists, please visit a doc one way or the other!
