Spring is in the air and wedding season is in full bloom. And to help all you trendy brides with your gown picks for Spring and Summer here are 5 of the hottest styles for wedding dresses this year.
5. April Showers Bring May Flowers…
And it also brings floral accents to the wedding gown runway this year. The dress on the left is from the Carolina Herrera 2009 collection and the dress on the right is from the one and only Vera Wang collection. Flowers are a very beautiful accent and one I could see myself walking down the aisle in. How about you?
4. Show a little Shoulder…
We have seen this trend on the runway as well as the red carpet. And now we can find it on brides everywhere. The one shoulder wedding dress is very sexy and romantic. If you’re having a summer wedding keep this trend in mind. The gown on the left is from Romona Keveza and the gown on the right is from Atelier Aimee.
3. Romantic Ruffles…
If you are going for the full dramatic wedding gown look then ruffles are just what you need! They are very romantic and dreamy. You can find styles with a little drama or with lots of drama flowing with ruffles from your head all the way down to your toes. I wouldn’t mind trying on a few dresses with ruffles, this one from Oscar de la Renta is very beautiful.
2. Black and White All Over…
Brides can go very formal in a black and white dress for a black tie wedding. However, you can also show your personality and creative side with black accents that may be something unexpected by family and friends. This gown by Madeline Gardner for Mori Lee is very sophisticated and something I would consider trying on.

My favorite from this collection is the Keveza dress on the bottom left with the cute bubbly bottom and black bow! Which one could you see yourself wearing down the aisle?

Hi Olga! Isn’t that flower something else! I love the Sex and the City movie and the fashions…did you know that Sarah Jessica Parker actually wore a black wedding dress to her own wedding to her husband Matthew! I read recently that she regrets that she wore black! But now it’s becoming more common for some brides to stay away from the traditional white gowns. To each her own!

I have attended several weddings last year, and noticed that some of the brides changed to a cute short white dress, right after the cake cutting ceremony. Must be a new trend….or call for comfort and fun.

Hi Olga! Yes…black is def not something I have in mind when it comes to wedding gowns. But I love a bride that can pull it off and be daring and creative. I will be wearing white and maybe a teal blue ribbon tied around the waist. I will take pictures of what I try on!

Hi Sheila! No I havent been gown shopping just yet…but I will be checking out a few shops today to make appointments for May to try on gowns with my bridesmaids and Maid of Honor!! I love all these gowns in their own way, which tells me Im going to have a hard time choosing which one I want for myself! But I think when I put them on I will know when it’s “The One”! Here are pictures of the dress, is this what you’re looking for? I have seen many sites online with many questions about the Vera Wang gown she wore but it seems no one is able to find it. I actually emailed customer service at VeraWangonWeddings.com…I will let you know what I hear back from them.
