It’s so easy to get stressed out these days. A long commute, a silly quarrel, those 5 last pounds that just won’t go away can bring anyone down. But how do we get rid of all the stress and negative feelings and actually start enjoying life again? Well, seems like there’s a few simple rules that can make our lives happier. And here they are:
1. Take a 10-30 minutes walk every day. And while you walk, smile.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
3. Sleep for 8 hours a day.
4. Live with the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
5. Play more games.
6. Read more books than you did last month.
7. Make time to practice meditation, yoga, and prayer.
8. Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.
9. Dream more while you are awake.
10. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
11. Drink plenty of water.
12. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
13. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip.
14. Forget issues of the past. Don’t remind your partner with his/her mistakes of the past.
15. Don’t have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

i love it!!! good article!
Baibeehgurl,
Thank you for your lovely comment. Glad you liked the post. :)
Very good article, and also great choice of the opening image! I wish I had more time to do some of the tips.
Mabelle, this is a great article! :) Love that you’re spreading happiness tips! :)
I love this article,it’s so true.
Vivi,
It’s the small things that matter at the end of it all :)
Mariana,
Even if you find time to do some of these tips, you’d be so much more happier. Me time is the most important thing me thinks :)
Love this article, every word of it speaks the truth.
In my opinion, one of the things a person should do every day, is find an hour to realx and do something she really likes.
A book always changes my mood and I find it totally realxing as it’s what I love doing most. Freeing our mind from every day problems is healthy and needy for us.
Thanks for this wonderful sincere post!!
Don’t complain…complaining would make matters worse
Excellent points!!!
If only more people would practice it….this would be a wonderful world!!
Everyone should print it out and post it on the fridge, by your computer, and pass it along to someone you really care about.
I have my copy to take to work!!!
Great job. Thank you.
suburbangrandma,
That is actually a great idea! It’s easier to follow them when they are at a place where you can see them constantly. I’m thinking of putting it up on my room somewhere. Thank you :)
Good one Penelope. We should instead try to do something about it. I’m guilty of being a complainer on many occasions. But I have been trying hard to not whine as often as I do.
Xannyyy,
Reading a book at the end of the day is my favorite thing to do. Even if I’m too tired to read more than one page, I have to do it! It’s therapeutic!
I must say some of this ideas are great. I try to walk min 30 min a day and I usually achieve it (when is rain I don’t go out from home) and for a while now I’ve been sleeping 11-12 h a day :D, maybe because the cold season is coming.
The cold definitely makes me sleep more….and eat more! :p
Great Story! I also think people trying to maintain their happiness should not hang around unhappy-negative people. Or, limit your time with them. It always works for me.
Best, Kaya Cassan
Kaya,
That is so true. I have this friend who is so damn pessimistic that over the years I have distanced myself from her. I mean just because things arent going right in your life, you can’t constantly be negative about it…
@Sheila, stay clear of her. I call people like that energy vampires…sometimes we grow a part…good for you!
Kaya,
Lol @ energy vampires!
Sheila,
A post regarding some top book (fiction in particulary! :P), should be really interesting for us readers who are mad about books! (SOME ONE JUST LIKE ME :P lool)
