3. Undetected food allergies …
All other cases of dark circles and puffiness under the eyes are usually caused by an undetected food allergy (unless, of course, it’s constitutional or hereditary).
Masked food allergy can produce so many different symptoms that they are easily dismissed by doctors and patients themselves.
The symptoms of allergies to wheat, corn, milk and other common foods are usually chronic and go unrecognized until more serious problems arise and make doctors think that something undetected is taking place and has to be checked out.

It is very common for people with chronic food allergies to suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and much different type of autoimmune disorders that can go asymptomatic for years.
Not necessary everybody with food allergy would have it, but any allergy puts extra pressure on the liver, endocrine and immune systems. So to avoid all these I would recommend to every one with dark circles and/or puffiness under the eyes start to pay a little extra attention to what kind of food might cause it and try to eliminate this type of food for a while to see the results.
4. Toxins …
If non of the above applies to you and you had dark circles or under eye puffiness for a while, it would be a good idea for you to do some whole body detox to remove all the toxins from your systems and help your liver work better. Usually all dark circles disappear after proper detoxification. See why detoxification is good for your health or find out which of these 3 ways to detox your body would be best for you.

umm… i get dark circles under my eyes when im tired and im pretty sure i don’t have any of these problems.
Jes, you can’t be so sure about not having any problem discussed in this post. When you get tired you usually get dehydrated which means that toxins in your body became more concentrated and as a result you get dark circles.
hey well im 16 years old and im a very busy athletic girl and ive started to get bagged eyes since the 8th grade. when i noticed the bags i went to sleep at 8:30 -9:30 EVERY NIGHT (in the 8th grade.) on some days they weren’t as bad but on other days they were so bad i didn’t even want to go to school! in 8th grade i was a meat eater and didn’t really care what i eat because i didn’t need to worry about getting fat. so in 9th grade they wernt has noticeable but were still there then in oh and then in 10th grade there so noticeable please help. i play alot of sports but i sleep more then anyone i talk to it makes me jealous of people that dont have bagged eyes that dont sleep like at all!! plz help!!!
Please help…My under eye dark circles appeared literally overnight, about ten days ago and are not going away. I’m middle eastern and in my mid forties and all of a sudden I look like a badger. It seems that my under eyes have hollowed out compared to my cheek bones (they’re definitely not puffy).I get plenty of sleep. A girlfriend who hadn’t seen me in two weeks thought I looked ill and asked if I have an iron deficiency!!! I feel fine…What do you think could be causing this sudden drastic change. Thanks in advance.
Hey Roxy,
If it’s that sudden and sleep is not the issue, nutrition could be the cause. Maybe your friend is right about the iron deficiency. Go visit a doctor as soon as you can. He’d definitely be able to help you out better. And it’s better than wasting time guessing. Keep us posted!
