Here are just some random thoughts on the subject. Many people have habits other than smoking that are just as unhealthy as smoking, and some have ones that are dangerous to themselves and / ...See more or others. People are more irritating these days, probably because of the overcrowding, and that’s one of the reasons we smokers smoke. We can still be nice regardless. I’ve been off and on all my life. I go back and forth. I’m on now; I smoke two packs a week. But I find that annoying people don’t bother me half as much when I’m on. I don’t know whether it’s the reward of it or because it really is calming. I suppose we smoke because it gets harder to take life straight these days because it gets harder to deal with as each decade goes by. It’s much easier to concentrate as a smoker, especially when the pressure is worse these days with people doing the work of three people, not to mention the widespread bullying perpetrated by bosses. There’s also the necessity of having to keep up with and learn all of the technology. There are all kinds of threats coming at us from all sides now too. Last but not least, smokers can deal with it all and easily stay slender without dieting.
sheila, you need to get a life. you are so intellectually inflexible . There are so many bad things in this world. just because someone smokes doesnt mean they are bad or that they dont ...See more care about themselves. I never usually post things but people like u really get under my skin. who knows maybe if u smoked u wouldn’t be such a b!+$%
People have a right to smoke and shouldn’t be criticised for it. Us smokers don’t have a big list of non-smoking celebrities on the internet with little captions slagging them off. Some people just enjoy ...See more a cigarette, the same way as some people enjoy equally unhealthy things, like eating an entire cake to themselves, going on tanning beds, we’re all guilty of one wee unhealthy habit.
Hey Ally,
I don’t see why you need to get defensive. If people have the right to smoke, people also have the right to make lists. Lighten up!

What ally said is true but smoking would be like eating several cakes everyday not to mention that it smells bad and gives you cancer. i can`t tell you how many times I have been ...See more to a restaurant and some person is rude enough to sit there and smoke in front of others. I don`t care if you are in your own home smoking, that`s not my problem but in front of others? That is ever rude Does cake give you cancer? i don`t think so. Sometimes you have to weigh the good things and the bad things about one “wee” bad habit.
As a smoker, I fully understand the health risks of smoking, I just decided the risk is worth it. This may change in the future, and if it does, I am confident I will be ...See more able to quit. This being said, i respect the decision if others to not smoke. I don’t smoke around those that don’t like it, and I also respect smoking bans. I just find it a little narrowminded when people write smokers off as idiots who for some reason don’t get that it isn’t healthy, because it really isn’t true. Smokers an nonsmokers can get along, it just takes some understanding.
Hey Nate,
Agreed to each their own and all that jazz, but what irks me is when smokers smoke without taking the non smokers into consideration. I don’t want to die because of someone else. ...See more Also, if you say that smokers KNOW that it isn’t healthy and choose to do it anyway because they decide the risk is worth it, doesn’t that make them more stupid??

I am disappointed with this list.
It mentioned Dave Navarro twice, but completely left Johnny Depp off the list! BAD FORM!
Personally, I think everyone who looks down on smokers should get a reality check, ...See more and thank them instead. Smokers in the UK alone contribute enough money in tobacco tax to run the police force for a year. So next time you see someone puffing away, instead of pointedly forcing yourself to cough, how about you thank them for keeping your tax bill down.
You can’t really be “caught” smoking if you’re not trying to hide it. Bravo to all the celebs who aren’t ashamed to smoke. If more of us smokers stood up for our rights, there wouldn’t ...See more be so many smoking bans.

The bans are for people who want to have a healthy life, rather than those who choose a slow and painful death:)
hope that you are able to look at the facts objectively and quit sooner rather than before it’s too late:)
Smoke is – really – bad for us but Ooaaww can I smoke that guy just a little? Please! From the picture above you can tell that he is just SMOKING HOT! Haha. Love JL ♥
I was a school secretary for 22 years – I could smell cigarette smoke on the kids whose parents were smokers. Not only were they breathing in poison, they smelled really bad.

Sheila,
let’s say you’re a trapeze artist. Every time you do a show, you are risking immediate death, but would that make you stupid? Obama smokes, and he is definitely not stupid. Now, I understand ...See more fully not wanting smokers to damage your health, and I make sure I don’t do that to anyone, unforuneatley there are those who are much more careless. You can’t just place all smokers into one category saying they are all inconsiderate assholes, just like you can’t put all Muslims int the group if being terrorists. I’m not saying you should smoke, or like it that others smoke, but you definitely should not judge people because they do.

Freedom of choice is fine with the smoking Nazi’s; so long as they get to do the choosing. BTW, the criteria for “celebrity” is apparently so loose as to allow 25 people nobody has heard of.
Hi.
People have a right to freedom of speech, but people have the freedom to do as they want as long as they do not harm others’ rights. I do not see how a smoker ...See more harms others’ rights.

And when I did smoke, I would never of smoked in presence of non smokers if the smell or anything of the sort was revolting to them.

People should make lists of celebrity smokers. Smoking is disgusting, it kills the smoker and people around them; it is banned for a reason! Because it kills, not because people don’t “stand up for it”. ...See more If these celebrities were caught doing drugs, it would be front page news. I am an ex smoker and I look back now and wonder what I was doing! My skin was terrible, my clothes stunk, my friends would move away when I smoked…now I can’t even stand the smell of it. It is gross. End of.
As for the list, hardly surprising. Courtney Love and Pete Doherty? I’m sure they do worse things to themselves than smoke.
Most smokers are addicted to Nicotine. There are new technologies like stag electronic cigarettes that can be a healthier, cheaper, environmentally and socially friendly alternative. Many smokers have already switched to stag signature, some have quit smoking all together!
