14. You locked your keys in your car. The locksmith’s on the way, but he said it might be hours before he arrives.
15. A close family member was in a car accident. You don’t know if its serious or not, but you just couldn’t concentrate at work unless you go check on them.
16. You’ve caught a stomach virus. This one’s great because you can claim whatever hour length you need… 18-hour stomach virus, 24-hour, 48-hour bug… suits your needs!
17. Your septic tank overflowed, and your yard is flooded with sewage. No one will question your need to take care of this one!
18. A tree in your neighborhood fell into the street, blocking the road. The Department of Transportation will respond as soon as they can, but who knows when that will be?
19. You got stung by a bee last night and had no idea you were allergic… now your face is so swollen you can’t see to drive.
20. You carpool to work, and your carpool group totally forgot you this morning. Now, you’ll have to try to hitch a ride with someone else – surely your boss won’t encourage hitch hiking!

I work for the police department so a lot of those excuses wont work for me. But I did find a few new ones to try.

I used to work with a girl who always had health issues as excuses,and some of the cleaver coworkers kept track of what letter of the alphabet her next ailment will start with (they really were convinced that she was making it all up….so sad).
I’ve always been skeptical about making up ailments, as not to jinx myself and really come down with something….how silly is that?

I tend to think out of the box. I mean the common “i’m not feeling well” will most likely get you out of work, but it doesn’t stop them from questioning you. Something like.. ” my outlet is sparking, the electronic guy is on his way, however, i’m not sure how long it will take..or, ” my hot water tank broke, my basement is flooded, now i have to move all my electronics upstairs so they don’t get wet” those type of excuses won’t get questioned simple because they are not everyday occurances.

I need to get out of work because I have to go to court to appeal my unemployement for my previous job. I cant tell my current employer that I have Jury Duty because I had jury duty 3 weeks ago and they know I cant get called in for Jury Duty more than once a year. I want to say I have to go to court, however, I dont want to say it’s to appeal my unemployement. Should I say I have to contest a ticket? HELPPPP!!!
A friend of mine was suppose to be working the night of this huge party so i told her to tell her boss she had diarrhea. We phoned on a 3 way call and my friend immediately started to explain her situation (in detail haha) and ended with ” so i dont think I’m going to make it in to work tonight” her boss responded with ” Um…your not on the schedule” LOL
ha ha. Louise that story is so funny. I would have burst out laughing if i was you or your friend.

you can have someone call you at work if you went but feel like you dont want to do anything to leave work to but it still works if you stay home and just call in theres a bad leak in your roof and you dont have the money to get someone in so your going to have to try to fix it yourself and get the next day off if you say it was worest then you thought when you went to fix it you found wiering so now you have to make sure its all up to code and you now have to call in some help
