When your best pal is a member of the opposite sex, the million dollar question has always been: can you transition from being friends to lovers? For some, moving from friends to lovers is the very obvious choice. For others, the situation becomes a little bit more complicated. This is especially true when either the man or the woman is not willing to risk ruining the friendship. If you are torn between letting things remain as they are, or blurting out your feelings because you just cannot bear the thought of your friend not knowing how you feel – here are some tips that will help you out.
• First, get to the root of the ‘problem’.
Go back to the time when you felt a deeper feeling towards your friend. Is it because of the constant companionship? Have you just gone from a really bad relationship that is why you are considering treating your friendship as being something more than platonic? Before taking the risk of ruining the friendship, make sure that what you are feeling for your friend is the real thing.
• Second, understand that your friend may not really feel the same way about you.
Once you have decided to go for it and tell your friend that what you are feeling for him or her is beyond friendship – understand that the feeling may or may not be mutual. Surprise is generally the initial reaction, especially if your declaration has seemingly come out of nowhere. After that, just let what you have said sink in.
Then, there will be two scenarios. The first one is that your friend may not realize that he or she actually feels the same way about you and you can both move on from being friends to something more. The second scenario is that your friend does not feel the same way at all. This is the crucial point that you need to prepare for. The mere act of sharing your feelings with your friend may cause your friendship to be ruined, or worse, it could cause your relationship to end. That’s the risk that you have to take.
At the end of the day, the decision will be entirely up to you. Just remember that in life, there are a lot of risks that you need to take and this situation is a classic example of that. Taking the risk of ruining your friendship by letting your friend know how you feel about them is a lot better than not letting on about how you feel at all.
Supermodel Heidi Klum and her Grammy award-winning husband Seal took the tradition of renewing their marriage vows one step further this year. The gorgeous and stylish couple decided not just to renew their vows but to get married again – with a traditional Indian ceremony as the main theme. Guests were requested to come decked in sherwanis and Sarees, while their Mexican getaway home was decorated with Banarasi drapes and decors. The romantic ceremony was led by Shailesh Tripathi, an Indian priest whom Heidi and Seal met from a previous visit to India. Baranasi sarees were distributed as party favors to guests.
The couple first swapped marriage vows on May 10, 2005 in Costa Careyes, Mexico. As to why the two finds the need to renew their marriage vows every year, Seal said in an interview with InStyle Magazine that “It focuses us on why we got married, and sets a good example… for the kids.” Seal and Heidi are proud parents to Henry Gunther Ademola Dashtu Samuel and Johan Rily Fyodor Taiwo Samuel. The supermodel has daughter Helene “Leni” Klum from a previous relationship.
Being the big David Cook fan that I am, I am so happy to hear that this talented singer’s career seems to be starting out on the right track. After sweeping off the American Idol stage in a ‘knockout’ battle with 17-year old cutie David Archuleta – he is now dating a fellow American Idol alum – and releasing a single which is on top of the iTunes’ Store Top 10.
I remember an AI episode where host Ryan Seacrest had David C. answer a question from a fan whether he’s still single – and he is! But the scruffy-faced rocker just revealed in the “Live with Regis and Kelly” show that he is dating Kimberly Caldwell, who was a contestant in AI’s second season. Naturally, the two met through the show – and David said that they will “probably hang out again”. If things go well, this AI winner may not be so single anymore.
Today, David’s single “The Time of My Life” is sitting comfortably on top of iTunes Store’s Top Ten Songs. His AI performance of “Dream Big” is on the number 9 spot. I personally love his version of “Always Be My Baby” from the Mariah Carey week. It looks like David is having the ‘time of his life’ after grabbing the AI crown.

It’s time to say hello again to Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. Four years after the groundbreaking HBO series “Sex and the City” ended on the small screen, in comes the film version which I always assumed would be a continuing saga of shoes, clothes and of course – sex.
I was just reading this review of the movie from msn.com and I cannot wait to see the movie version on the big screen! My friends and I have reserved group tickets for the weekend’s opening, and we’ll definitely make a girl’s night out of it. According to the review, the characters of the series have grown emotionally, in the sense that their priorities have changed – although they are no less glamorous. Shoes and clothes the fifth and sixth stars of the movie. But what I am looking forward to seeing for myself is the development of Carrie’s relationship with Mr. Big, Miranda with her hubby Steve, Charlotte with Harry and Samantha – is she still with that hottie Smith Jerrod or has she moved on to another bed? I actually would not care if the plot of the movie seems a bit to soap-operatic. These are the characters that women of my generation have grown to love over the number of years that the series was shown on TV. I’m sure that SATC fans will find the film as satisfying as a box of chocolates – and after watching the boxed DVD series twice – for me, it all seems a bit anticlimactic.
It is quite refreshing to see actress Eva Longoria-Parker take a break from her ultra-chic and always-sedate couture gowns and don a ’sunny’ look for a change. Mrs. Parker was spotted shopping in France in a white-and-yellow ensemble by Trina Turk. The short and sleeveless shift dress looked cool, comfy and casual enough for a shopping expedition. For accessories, she had on a pair of clear bangles and bold shades.

The latest news is that Britney Spears is seen frolicking in Costa Rica where she is reportedly staying at Mel Gibson’s $31-million mansion in Samara. The mother of two is a guest of Gibson and his wife Robin. The two’s friendship first became public when Gibson and Spears were seen dining together in March. In relation to this, the two were formers neighbors in Malibu, which probably explains their bond.

Last May 19, according to TransWorldNews.com, Britney apologized to her family for her ‘erratic’ behavior. As a result of this, she was left under her dad Jamie Spear’s guidance, and her mother was the one who urged her to apologize. Here’s what she said: “I’m sorry to have put you through so much. much. I’m strong deep down and I think the whole thing has made me even stronger. I think now I’m on the right track to being a better mother and a better person, someone you and my boys can be proud of.” This was the 26-year old’s comment after gaining more visitation time with her sons, who are currently under their father Kevin Federline’s care.
As far as her career is concerned, Britney has made quite an impact on her ‘comeback’ appearances as a guest star in the hit CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother”. She first appeared in the show on March 24, and then again on May 12th. She played the same character named Abby who has a crush on Ted. The latest is that the show’s creators are open to a third Britney installment – and may even consider making her a regular on the show.
Now that she can get to spend more time with here kids and the audience is warming up to her television comeback, maybe the once-pop-princess turned tabloid material could now could finally be given a chance to put her act together.
