So, if are thinking about having sex for the first time, you really need to think this all through.

And before you do, please consider these 20 teen sex pros and cons below:

Sharing this closeness can strengthen the bond between you and your partner, providing a unique insight into their desires and what makes them feel loved. You Will Be Risking Pregnancy Even Using Protection

UPD:

Having sex is an important decision that should not be taken lightly. While it can be a pleasurable experience, it also comes with risks. One of these risks is the possibility of pregnancy, even with the use of protection.

When having sex, it is important to understand the risks associated with it and to be prepared for the consequences. While the use of protection, such as condoms and birth control, can help reduce the risk of pregnancy, it is not a guarantee. Condoms can break or slip off, and birth control can fail. Even if the protection is used correctly, there is still a chance of pregnancy.

In addition to the risk of pregnancy, having sex can also put people at risk for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Even if protection is used, it is possible to contract an STI, as some STIs are spread through skin-to-skin contact. It is important to get tested regularly and to use protection every time you have sex to reduce the risk of STIs.

Embracing each other on such an intimate level for the first time can really solidify your bond and commitment. The awe of discovering each other's bodies and preferences can be exciting, albeit a bit nerve-wracking. Remember, it's perfectly normal to feel a mixture of emotions, from elation to anxiety. The key is to communicate openly and take things at a pace that feels comfortable for both partners. Cherish the moment, because it's a unique experience that can't be recreated — one that you'll likely reminisce about in the years to come.

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

Hello all you peoples! I don't know what type of attitude this comment will give off but I don't mean for it to be contradictory or argumentative at all. (Just want to say that before I get started :D ) I am sixteen. My boyfriend is 18. Yah yah yah I've heard it all, I wouldn't bother scolding me if I were you, my friends do enough of that :D We are best friends, no tension very relaxed. We poke fun at each other, hang out and stuff friends do, just with a little more physical contact. We have gotten handsie/handsy (is that even a word?) and no awkwardness really. If anything it is a outlet for stress and a another way to show affection. For the past few days I have been looking into birth control and condoms and having sex as a highschooler. This is the stuff I have read over and over again (in regards to sex at my age). The reason I am researching not just birthcontrols but sex in highschool is this: My friends are anti anything relationship wise. These kids squeal in disgust when I hug him. I love them, don't get me wrong, but it is scaring me away from doing something I really want to do. In regards to abortion, from a teen's perceptive, it is not an easy escape. For some people (*cough* Kardashians *cough*) it is, but for (many) teens it is mortifying. Yes, I would rather have an abortion than have a child that would not only ruin my life but would grow up without a doubt in it's mind that it was a mistake. My parents were married when they had me and I feel intensely guilty whenever they don't have enough money for a good vacation because they need to bring me along, and I was PLANNED. Well anyways, I agree with abstaining and the points that it can hurt if you have never done anything at all, but love can be found in highschool, even if it crumbles apart #whatdoesn'tkillyoumakesyoustronger I guess. Everyone tells me it will fall apart but I'd like to have my first with someone I care about, who knows when that'll happen again. Also, I would like to hear stories from people who waited and then lost their virginity to another person who was not, because, lets be honest virgins older than 20 are rarer than they have been. Sorry this is kinda random, just wanted to get it out there :D Sorry if this offended anyone, I love you all ;) please don't yell at me :( (Sorry for any spelling errors and the length :D )

you make it look like sex is some horrible experience... it's not, it's something wonderfull

(not trying to be disrespectful or anything) but in my experience Americans seem to either have sex as a teenager or wait till marriage. I live in the UK and agree that I might not be able to see both sides of this but the legal age of sex here is 16 but most people don't lose their virginity until they're 17 or 18. I don't know of anybody I have ever met who believes in waiting till marriage. I know this wasn't very related to this article but I read quite a lot of comments on here about waiting fir marriage and having very young sex.

It didn't hurt my first time... It doesn't hurt as long as you're very wet and use lube! WATER BASED!

My boyfriend and I are jewish and we follow the waiting to have intercourse for marriage. i'm 16. I have about 6 more years to wait. It gets hard, but i dont want to become pregnant.. or ever have the worry of a missed period..I know there is birth control, but i met some kids who were "accidents" and the birth control failed or the condom broke or the pullout deal didn't work.. I NEVER want to be in that situation when i'm this young. Waiting until marriage is much more about the great feeling, its much more spiritual and makes marriage more significant. Don't get me wrong, i love messing around with my boyfriend, but we know where to stop.. Atleast one of us has our pants still on. I think it's stupid for people to go any further, especially when you don't even love the guy and don't plan on spending the rest of your life with him. I would never be with a guy who i couldn't picture my self marrying.. yes i said that.. and im a junior in high school. why would i waste my time, my heart, and my trust on some guy!!? its like a heart break waiting to happen. also it took me about 2 months for me even let the guy see my boobs and that was AFTER he told me he loved me. don't call me prude, call me old fashioned. i'm not ashamed. I can't wait for the day of my marriage to go up to him and say, "i waited for YOU." While having sex with him, i wont have any memories of any other boy. It's just me and him.

"Oh, did I mention the first times around it’s SO painful, you’ll find yourself crying (with pain) during the sex and asking yourself why you wanted to do it in the first place." -yeah, right. your trying too hard to discourage. i agree with you but its just not all true. lot of it is completely biased. I know i wont change your mind, Its all a matter of opinion.
