coffee, but I feel guilty spending $5 on coffee when we’re on a budget. But, a gift card means no guilt! Even if you’ve only got $10 or $15 to spend, that goes a long way at a coffee shop… the lady you’re buying for can get three to five drinks for that price.
12. Journal …
Most of my friends love journaling … writing down their thoughts, feelings, ambitions, or even keeping a food diary if they’re dieting! So, I always keep an eye out for beautiful journals on clearance. Then, I can pair them with a really nice pen and bookmark, and I’ve got a classy gift for almost nothing.
13. Robe or pair of slippers …
I love settling in at night to read the paper or a magazine in a cuddly robe and slippers. These two items make great gifts for women, too! You can get a great, thick robe or comfy slippers for less than $40. If I’ve got a little extra cash to spend, I get them monogrammed with the person’s initials for a personal touch.
14. Digital key chain …
These little gadgets used to be really expensive a few years ago, but now they’re less than $50. I got one for Christmas last year, and I love it … its a great way to carry around my digital pictures without having to print them. I’ve bought several as gifts for ladies since then, and they’ve all loved them! You can find them at Brookstone.
15. Calendar with photos …
Around my office, these calendars are popular among all the ladies. If you’ve got twelve pictures of the lady you’re buying the present for and friends or family, you can easily make a personalized calendar online for less than $20. I’d love to get this gift – hint, hint!
16. Birthstone rings…
I think these birthstone eternity bands are a great take on a traditional mother’s ring. I’m not interested in a tacky ring with a bunch of different colored birthstones, but stacking rings? Sure! I’ve gotten these rings for my friends that are new moms – I used their baby’s birthstone, and they just adored them! I got mine at Zales for $39, but I think they’re on sale right now!
17. Mini herb gardens …
It was funny… my mom got one of these for my last Mother’s Day, and I bought her the same thing! Must be a great gift! I love cooking with fresh herbs, and most of my friends do, too. The great thing about these little mini gardens is that anyone can use them, even if they don’t have a big yard- they grow great on a windowsill!
18. Personalized stationary …
We’ve got a great stationary store in my town, and I stop by often to check their discontinued section. I can get a great little box of stationary for less than $10, and they’ll personalize the notecards with names or initials for about $8. So, for less than $20, I’ve got a personal, special present.
19. Movie gift certificates …
I got a movie gift certificate pack for my moving-and-shaking grandmother last time … she has more date nights than I do! I was able to get two tickets, a large popcorn, and two drinks as a package for about $30. That’s a sweet deal, and whoever gets the gift can use it to see whatever movie they want. I think I’ll be using this idea a lot more often!
20. Dinner club …
What woman doesn’t wish she had more help in the kitchen? I’ve given several people a dinner club membership, and they start at around $25… very reasonable! Depending on how much you spend, a different number of premade dinners are delivered to the gift recipient’s house each month. Easy and delicious! Learn more at Amazing Clubs.

You have given some great ideas. I especially like the idea of buying her a book from one of her favorite authors, or a candle in a color/scent that she especially likes.
Thanks for the ideas.
The only gift on this list I can see enjoying is the bottle of wine, in fact I would needed it to handle the rest of the terrible gifts. This seems to be a list of all those gifts that get thrown into storage or regifted right after the party ends.
BOOK is my favorite gifts.
A replica handbags also OK.

The funny thing here is that these bags are made like adult handbags. If you have a friend you haven’t seen in a while – it may even be cute gift for your adult girlfriend…I’ve so far seen my sisters both in their 20’s gift them to friends and they cried..they were so touched. Then my aunt send one to her BFF in California….For $35.00 it’s a great gift
Hey Daisy Cook,
As a 23 year old, i don’t know if I would gift that to any girlfriend of mine but I’m sure ourteen readers will love it! Thanks for sharing :)
A cool and funky scarf or hat/scarf/glove combo is always welcomed.
Dragonfly,
Ooo yes to the multifunctional hat/scarf/glove combo!
I hear you..but if you saw the bags in person you’d see why – they are very adult. When an older girl gifts it to a friend – it’s symbolic. I was very very surprised when my sisters shared them – but there friends were VERY touched :) So I thought I would share. This is a great gift for a older tween sister to gift her younger sister – They always want to be like their older sisters and this helps them feel connected.
Thanks for the comments!
