2 Techniques to Create The Long and Wavy Hair Style…

Great news, Ladies, Long and Wavy hair style is The Hair Style of 2009!

What is so great about?  Well, first of all, it’s a low maintenance do, that looks very fashionable and feminine when done the right way.  And secondly, this fabulous Long and Wavy hair trend can be easily created at home!

The Length

The medium and long length are preferable for the Long and Wavy style, but if you recently cut your hair and it’s of a shorter length, the technics for getting the natural wave described below, will work for you too!

The one and only thing to keep in mind is no matter what, your waves should look as natural as possible!

The Structure

Either you have heavy layered locks or a full lenght a-la Demie Moore (I so envy her right now), your hair will look amazing with the Long and Wavy do.  Just make sure your new wavy hair looks as effortlessly fabulous, as possible, as if you just happened to have fabulous hair…

DIY Techniques

#1. The Non-Damaging Technique:

Before bedtime, mist just-washed, damp hair with a leave-in conditioner and a volume-boosting aerosol spray (an aerosol spray will dry soft, and won’t leave hair hard and crunchy). Then twirl one-inch sections of hair into spiral braids and let them dry overnight.

-”Elle” magazine

I personally love this technique for two reasons: it does not damage your hair and it’s extremely easy.  All you need is 2 minutes of your time (if even that) before you go to bed.  The only thing to remember is that the more braids you have, the smaller will be the wave, so, 1 or 2 would be perfect for that natural fashionable runway look.

im finding it hard to follow these instruction, i tryed doing 2 last night and my hair is seriously curly, could you tell me exactly how to do the natural technique

    Okay Phil,
I’m not sure what exactly you’re doing wrong. Its simple though. The smaller your braids, the curlier your hair will end up being. So if you want it to be less wavy, make the braids broader. As for their positions, I would suggest parting your hair they way you normally do and taking each section of your hair starting from one end working up to the back and finishing at the other end. Remember to keep the braids fairly uniform in size so that way it will be symmmetrical and perfect :) Hope that helped!
