Christmas has definitely arrived early this year thanks to Estee Lauder. I received last week a wonderful box from them of the Estee Lauder Holiday Spirit Collection. And let me just say, Estee Lauder is definitely not your mother’s makeup anymore.

This Collection is absolutely beautiful. From the beautiful image of Gwyneth Paltrow, to the gorgeous, totally wearable colors in this collection. It’s elegance, sophistication and glamour rolled into one.
Here’s what I was treated with:
LIMITED EDITION
BRILLIANT ALL OVER POWDER
in Platinum Gold
This compact is pure decadence. Elegant, and absolutely beautiful on. This powder actually looks more silvery on than gold, but dusted on cheekbones, collarbones, etc. it’s the most beautiful way to glam up your day to night look. I’ve even applied with my finger, the gold powder onto my lips with a touch of gloss over it. Sooo pretty.
PURE COLOR LIPSTICK
in Autumn
This color is more beautiful on than you think it will be. It looks very ‘wine’ in the tube, but applied, it softens to a most beautiful wine stain with touches of gold shimmers in it. I loved this color. Though the lipstick is very creamy (great for dry lips though) but if you’re like me, you’ll find that this lipstick comes off very easily. Just apply and do the blot with the kleenex trick (press a kleenex over closed lips and blot the entire mouth to get a very even blotting effect) and then apply another layer of lip color if you want. You’ll find the color stays on longer. I’ve even applied a touch of lipstick onto my cheeks as a stain. The golden sheen is gorgeous…. love love love. And also has the heavenly fig/vanilla scent that their glosses have.
PURE COLOR CRYSTAL GLOSS
in Golden Nude
Again, gorgeous and perfect to add to a nude lip, if you want to pair it with a smokey eye. With touches of beige gold shimmer, it’s beautiful over any lipstick (though it will lighten the color a bit) or by itself. This thick gloss stays on great and also has that great fig/vanilla scent. Yum!
PURE COLOR NAIL LACQUER
in Golden Nude
My first journey into using the Estee Lauder nail polishes and I’m quite impressed. One coat gave a very beautiful even layer of golden shimmer and two coats gave a more opaque finish that lasted for days. Just a note: the polish in Golden Nude is more of a yellow gold that looks better on toes than fingertips. The yellow cast of the polish can make your nails and hands look a bit off color. For fingers try their polish in Black Wine (see bottle image).
A heartfelt thank you to Estee Lauder for their wonderful holiday collection. A color collection that is virtually completely fool proof and totally wearable.

Britney Spears at Pure nightclub

LAS VEGAS – Britney Spears finally appears to be acting like a new mom. The pop princess, who recently made headlines for a rash of less-than-motherly hard partying, fell asleep in a Las Vegas nightclub early Monday shortly after leading the New Year’s Eve countdown, her manager said.
“By about one o’clock, she was just done, so we took her out,” Spears’ manager, Larry Rudolph, told The Associated Press Monday. “She was not drunk. She was just tired and falling asleep.”
Rudolph denied reports circulating on gossip Web sites that Spears, 25, collapsed shortly after midnight and was carried out by bodyguards. The star was hired to host the festivities at Ceasars Palace’s PURE nightclub.
Rudolph said Spears walked out of the club and did not seek medical attention.
“There is nothing out of the ordinary here,” he said.
Spears was traveling with her two sons, 3-month-old Jayden James and 1-year-old Sean Preston. She filed for divorce in November from her husband of two years, Kevin Federline.
In a statement on her Web site posted earlier this month, Spears noted that in recent nights out — one in which she flashed her apparent lack of underwear to the paparazzi — she may have taken her “new found freedom a little too far.”
