I know what you might be thinking: “Wedges? No thank you!” But the truth is, girls, this season’s wedges are pretty fabulous! And SO much more comfortable than heels (believe me, I’ve worn both today)!
If you look at wedges with men’s eyes, they’d look even stranger – my hubby, for instance, thinks they are too funny – but if men ever tried walking in 4 inch heels in 86 degrees, they’d probably be more forgiving.
Well, anyway, I just thought that wedges deserved a little fashion praise for taking good care of our ankles and toes.
And here they are – 16 Coolest Wedges for This Summer!
1. Bottega Veneta – Crocodile platform sandal …

2. Bottega Veneta – Multi-floral napa sandal …

3. Brian Atwood – Metallic platform wedge …

4. Bruno Frisoni – Leather crisscross platform sandal …

5. Dolce & Gabbana – Suede ankle-strap wedge with copper silk piping …

6. Fendi – Jute and suede trompe l’oeil shoe …

7. Fendi – Lace-up suede tromp l’oeil shoe …

I viewed your hottest wedges with great amusement. $270 for Jimmy Choos AND with the added bonus they weren’t on sale? Are you kidding me? Seriously, unless you are rocking one heck of a salary and have nothing to pay other than wedges, I’m sure your list would be helpful. Sadly, I think it’s fair to say 9 out of 10 women are unable to afford such ridiculous splurges. Get real and post shoes we don’t have to sell a kidney to buy.
to Bella:
I am sorry you felt that way about the wedges… To be honest I’ve been saving for mine for a couple of months and it was something I got myself for my Birthday. So I am not going to make any more excuses here, just want to point out that it’s not about the money, it’s more about prioritizing. I am sure you spend more than I do on clothes, food and outing when I save for things I love the most – designer shoes. Call me crazy, but I would skip meals if I had to ( and back in college, I did stay on an oatmeal diet for a week, if I wanted to buy something), but would buy the pair of shoes I want. And it has nothing to do with the salary.
But you are right about something there, we really should write more about shoes that do not break the bank. Point taken!
So pretty but so out of reach :( Btw Jimmy Choo’s for $270?? Quite a steal me thinks!
to Sheila:
Yeah… I too wish designer shoes were less expensive…
great picks, but I really love #1, considering buying….
You know my mom always told me:” if you like something, and it suits you well, don’t look at the price, you are not buying it every day,and will have it for a while”. While this is true, I am a very frugal shopper, and only pay for things what I think they are worth, which means I wait for sales most of the time. I also like lots of stuff, not just few nice things, so I do have to watch the prices….Then again, in my younger years…..my thinking was different. You love it….get it….and as you said, save for it but cutting corners somewhere else (good food is important for your health, but there are ways to modify it as well)
to SuburbanGrandma:
Wow!!! My Mom says exactly the same thing as your Mom! :)
I now have been more sensible about what to save on (not health-related stuff, definitely – mostly the stuff I don’t really need :)
And I am very glad to hear you liked the wedges, SuburbanGrandma! :)
Thank you.
to ImFashion:
Oh, yes, that Bottega Veneta pair is gorgeous :) Great taste! ;)
