You Think about Food All the Time ...

Constantly craving food isn’t good, and generally means that you are starving yourself. Up your calories, or your body will continue to hold on to them, and you’ll find yourself putting on weight rather than losing it!

You Linger at the Bakery Window ...

If you’re constantly feeling tempted, you are probably being too harsh on yourself. I try to ensure that I get to eat something I like at least a few times a week. I love Jelly Tots, so I try to have a packet 4 days a week, so that I don’t feel hard done by and give up.

You Fantasize about What You Could Be Having for Lunch/breakfast/dinner ...

Again, you are either being too harsh on yourself or missing out on some key food groups. Check that you are getting everything you need, and see if you start to enjoy what you are eating.

It Seems like Whenever You Look People Eat or Sell or Advertise Food ...

This is similar to cravings, so again check your diet and see why you are so hungry. You could try splitting meals into 5 smaller ones, as this keeps your metabolism going fast and should starve off hunger.

You Are or about to Start Secretly Eating Forbidden Foods ...

I suffer terribly with this, if I try to restrict myself from the foods I love too much. Try and make some changes that allow you to enjoy some of your old favourites, or you’ll find that the temptation to stray gets stronger and stronger.

You Feel like the Diet Isn't Working ...

Your instinct is the best thing to go on, so if you aren’t happy, get a friend to see what they think is wrong with the diet, or post on a diet forum and get advice.

You Wish You Weren't on a Diet ...

Try and hold it out for a while, and do something unrelated to dieting to make you happy. If you don’t feel better, analyze your diet. Maybe you’re being too harsh on yourself, or maybe you’d be more successful on a different diet. Have a look around, and see which other diets appeal to you. I found that the Special K diet worked well for me, but Slimming World didn’t. See what works for you.

You Complain about the Diet a Lot ...

If your diet has made you hate life, change it! It took me a few weeks to realize that there is so much more to life then dieting. It is not worth hating life over.

You Have Hard Time Falling Asleep at Night ...

Struggling to get to sleep? This can be to do with a nutrient deficiency, but it may also just be that your sleep routing isn’t good enough. Try taking a bath in lavender oil, using sleep spray and reading for an hour before sleep.

You do Not like Your Meals ...

A diet where you don’t like your meals won’t work, so plan the best eating plan for you. Take out any food you don’t like, and replace it with something that you do like.

You do Not Feel Well ...

If you’re diet is making you feel ill, you need stop. You are either dieting too hard, or seriously missing out on some nutrients or food groups. Stop dieting and see your GP, who will be able to tell you where you are going wrong.

You Are Not Happy with Yourself ...

If you aren’t happy, your diet isn’t working, and it won’t. You’ll find it hard to motivate yourself, and be twice as likely to give up. Try a different diet, or switch things about until you are happy with it.

You Became Very Irritable ...

Being irritable is a sign of how much you hate your diet, and this isn’t good. It isn’t supposed to be dreaded, so give up and try a new diet. You’ll see results much faster, and be much happier too.

Keep a copy of this list for reference, and check that you don’t experience any of these symptoms. If you do, you aren’t likely to see decent results however hard you try to lose weight, so try adapting the diet to fit you, or trying a new diet style. I should follow up those tips more! And some of them are so trueee! Ex. You think about food all the time! This one is top for me!

I usually don't like my meals when I'm on a diet because my favorite meals consist in sweets and pork meat so in a diet these are excluded. I'm trying to keep a healthy life and not really a diet :)
