12 Pros and Cons of Online Dating ...

Online dating is not a taboo subject anymore and people seem to take it more seriously than a few years ago. We are starting to accept online dating more and more as a genuine way to meet someone. Still, even now, many people do not take it seriously and ask themselves if it can work at all. Trust me: it can work. I have been dating someone online about seven years ago. It was a great experience at the time and we are happily married for more than 4 years now.

I have been in the High Tech world for many years and I know from experience that people are not the same online as they are in person. How many times has an email been taken out of context? They are words and often times the person reading the words will read it in their state of mind. So, if that person is stressed or upset, that is how your words will read to them. I know a person personally that went online found a woman, started talking about marriage, acted like he was an involved Single dad, even took her to meet his Sister. When in reality, he hops from job to job, borrows money from people and doesn't repay, doesn't have a drivers license because he won't pay his traffic tickets, he doesn't support his kid and his kid lives with his friends, and he isn't that close to his Sister. He broke that poor woman's heart after borrowing money from her and disappearing! I met that poor woman once and she is a sweet successful woman that did not deserve that! If you go the Online dating route - keep your guard up and do some research before you end up like this poor lady - with a broken heart and an empty wallet. Anyone can be whatever they want to be online - there are a lot of dis honest people in this world - why would you ever think everyone is honest online? In fact, it's easier to lie online. The odds of finding a real great person is about as good as you walking down the street, or shopping at the grocery store.

Interesting comments. From a mans perspective ( which I am!), and having been on and off online dating for nine years, when and if you find your "Twin Flame" is like winning the lottery; but much more rewarding in the reality of life. Money may bring you all you need in materialistic treasures and a new lifestyle, but finding the true love of your life has rewards that money cannot buy. A year ago, I met this woman that truly reflects the kind of woman that I was searching for. I was not unrealistic with my expectations or anticipations, and realized that perfection doesnot exist no matter who I would meet. There are pro's and con's with any internet dating site, and unfortunetly there are way to many game players; people who are not serious; people who find it as a means of personal entertainment, people who are lonely and looking for someone to talk to; people who misrepresent themselves, etc. I can contest that with patience, perserverance and a positive attitude towards meeting someone can be a rewarding experience. Just be smart, be realistic, be positive and take your time.

I have met a man online while i was still married .. so i ask for a divorce from my then husband and 3 yrs later i still don't know how this person looks .I exchanged my 15 yrs of marriage for this man.I have been reading about this online.Recently I realized it's Emotional attachment i feel for this faceless man that I've fallen over heels in love with . I talk to him on the phone..msn and yahoo..but that's all ..he has seen me so many times on webcam and photos i sent him ..but i have not receive any photos or even an invitation to see him on webcam .. what does that mean?i know he is single . but why is he so reluctant to let me see him.im so confuse.

I got marry with someone that I met on line. It was fun to read "the reasons". We Could add much more, maybe talking about what you figured out after marriege, like Cons * you just truly know his familiy after marriage. *you didn't know that he had intestinal problems and spents feet and feet of toilet paper. * He snors *hahahaha just joking ) ... but the family thing , is true ,and maybe can be a huge problem!
