10 Ways to Lower Your Cholesterol …

You have been diagnosed with high cholesterol and now you are in need of some tips on how to lower it. Sure, at first, it may seem complicated, and it will take some adjustments in order to get it right. I have never had to deal with high cholesterol, but I know some individuals that have, so I do have a bit of knowledge about this. If things have not been on your side lately and you would like to lower your cholesterol, then pay attention to the 10 tips that I am going to give you below.

10. Drink Two Glasses of Orange Juice Each Morning

Every morning, when you wake up, consume two glasses of orange juice that have been spiked with cholesterol-lowering plant sterols, like Minute Maid’s Heart Wise.

9. Eat Six Small Meals Each Day

A large study found that individuals who ate six small meals each day had significantly lower cholesterol than those who consumed two or three large meals each day.

8. Have a Glass of Wine Every Evening

You may want to have a glass of red wine every evening with your dinner. Studies have shown that a small glass of wine each day can boos the levels of HDL cholesterol. You should make it red wine arther then white wine as it is much higher in saponins (plant compounds).

I’ve heard between 4 and 6 smaller meals a day is healthier for years, Rose. Not only does it help to reduce cholesterol, it’s better for your metabolism and keeping blood sugars steady.

I kind of worry about the tip to have a glass of wine every evening, though. Grape juice can have the same benefits, provided it’s real grape juice and not the sugary or high fructose corn syrup laden fruit drinks, without the alcohol.

I’m glad you have mentioned oatmeal. It’s my morning habit to have it as my breakfast, side by side with my coffee. :-)

Thanks! I didn;t know some of those. My parents drink black tea a lot. Hopefully that is helping them. I end up using olive oil a lot.

Now I know why my cholesteral is in good standing…I do follow most of the points you have brought up…good for me.

I like oatmeal for breakfast, but I read somewhere that it is even better to eat it in the evening. I like the instant oatmeal that takes a minute in the microwave. I make it with a little bit of water, then once done, I add milk and sliced banana, and sometimes a tsp of honey and flax seeds…it is very healthful for you.
