10 Ways to Burn More Calories during the Day …

7. Eat more often …

Eating frequent small meals, especially if they are not loaded with sugar or white flour, is more stimulating for your metabolism than stuffing yourself with big meals two or three times a day.

8. Choose spicy …

If your health allows it, of course.  Choosing spicy dishes is another way to burn more calories during the day.  And they will also make you drink more water, which is great for your weight loss and general health!

9.  Keep moving at all times …

Adopt a habit of moving your feet, stretching your legs, or squeezing a rubber ball while sitting. Can you believe that such simple movements can burn up to 500 calories a day?

10.  Keep the temperature low …

In the winter, turn down the heat in your room, especially at night, and sleep under a lighter blanket. In the summer, turn on an air conditioning. A colder environment makes your body produce more heat and, therefore, facilitates the utilization of calories.

    Hi Amanda,

I came across your website as I was searching for appropriate excercise programs for weight loss. I am 19 years of age, and I weigh 120kg (I am Australian, so not sure what the U.S conversion is here to pounds, sorry!). Anyway, my aim is to lose atleast 20 kilos by the end of November, which is about 7 weeks away. Your advice on what I should eat and what excercise I could do would be GREATLY appreciated and I’m sure, highly beneficial.

    Regards,

    Elle

    Hi Elle,
Well let’s start with the basics. You have a set aim and the willpower which is a great start. What you need next is a plan. Chart out what exactly you’re going to do in the coming weeks in order to get to your target. You could start off with 1 hr walks/jogs for the first week or two. Then up your game by joining a gym or group classes, be that spinning, aerobics, dancing , Zumba whatever. It’s always better to have someone watch over you to keep you motivated. Healthy eating comes next. Keep a diary. Calculate your calories. Here’s a great post to help you with that:

Are colon cleansers bad for a quick weightloss? I have a big party in 4 weeks, and I go to the gym 6 days a week, and I eat pretty normal. But those stubborn love handles wont go away and I want to look really nice in my dress, but I look funny with my love handles. Any suggestions?

    Hey Nyah,
Thanks for stopping by. I don’t think colon cleansers are bad for you in any way. Infact I think they’re quite the opposite. But I’m no professional so here’s an article that may be of help. http://www.webmd.com/balance/natural-colon-cleansing-is-it-necessary
What I do know for sure is that 4 weeks is plenty of time to lose those love handles if you really put your mind and soul into it!

Green tea with cinnamon powder ( half teaspoon ) plus freash lemon juice ( half teaspoon ) , 3 to 4 times a day decreases blood sugar level and is helpful even for weight loss .

    M.S Qureshi,
Green tea has some amazing benefits and it doesn’t taste all that bad once you get used to the taste. Thanks for sharing :)
