1. WALK! Park your car a few blocks apart from the place you are going to and take to brisk walk to your office, grocery store, or a shopping mall. Intend to walk at least 30 minutes every day. At work, use some time during your lunch break to take a refreshing walk in a nearby park. If the weather is cold, you still can walk in your favourite mall.
2. In the office, get out of your comfortable chair and go visit your colleagues from a different department instead of messaging or phoning them. If you need to go to a washroom, choose the one located on the top floor and WALK there.
3. Try to always take the stairs instead of an elevator.
4. While watching TV, do not use remote control. Instead, every time you need to switch channels, get up and do that manually.
5. At dinner, choose steak instead of pasta. The more you chew, the more calories you burn!
6. Several times during the day, drink natural coffee or green tea without sugar to boost metabolism.
7. Eating frequent small meals, especially if they are not loaded with sugar or white flour, is more stimulating for your metabolism than stuffing yourself with big meals two or three times a day.
8. Choosing spicy dishes is another way to burn more calories during the day.
9. Adopt a habit of moving your feet, stretching your legs, or squeezing a rubber ball while sitting. Can you believe that such simple movements can burn up to 500 calories a day?
10. In the winter, turn down the heat in your room, especially at night, and sleep under a lighter blanket. In the summer, turn on an air conditioning. A colder environment makes your body produce more heat and, therefore, facilitates the utilization of calories.

I didnt know that spicy dishes help reduce calories.
Brisk walking is an effective means of burning calories.
Try working out even in the office. There are a lot of office exercises you can try. I do stretching even when Im sitting in from of my computer.
Number 10 is flat out wrong. In the summer, your body is constantly working to keep cool(increased blood flow = more vented heat). The hotter it is, the harder your body works. This applies whether you are resting or seriously working out. The cooler the environment, the less your body has to work to vent heat. Turning on the AC in summer makes you burn LESS calories. Unless you are at the point of shivering(which is the point when your body actually starts working hard to stay warm), your body is always working to vent heat, not retain it.
WP you are flat out wrong.
use your head.
you are not work to keep yourself cool if it is cold in the room! your body doesnt know that it summer all it can tell is weather it is cold or warm. if you make your room cold your body will automatically work to warm up while you sleep and throughout the day.
I totally agree with AR, the colder you are, the more calories you burn to warm up! That’s a proven fact :)
I was in Teen Challenge (a rehab) back in 2004 and some of these things are what we all did to burn excess calories because we had to eat all of our food and it was a lot of it too. Being excessively jittery burns a lot too. simply figeting of the legs can burn up to 530 cals daily. Tapping your pencil or pen up to 100. Standing up instead of sitting 35 an hour. Chewing gum 11 an hour. Drinking cold water helps increase metabolism, to loose weight you need at least 8-10 8 oz glasses a day, 6-8 to maintain health. Also you’ll eat less if you use a smaller plate, and take tiny bites and savor them, you’ll get full faster if you eat slowly as well. Making food “pretty” also helps, this stems from the theory that colored foods carry less calories, which is true, because fruits and veg. See all colorful, crisps, dips, meats, candy, etc. See all bland and “ugly” so to say. To jump start a diet a liquid diet is appropriate for up to 4 weeks. Also research the sacred heart miracle diet. You can eat absolutely as much as you wish, as a matter of fact the more you eat the more you loose. This dirt stems off the fact that fluid flushes you. I warn that the sacred heart diet is used for the morbidly obese and is unhealthy when used for longer that 1 week at a time. You WILL loose 10-17 lbs a week. I lost 25 lbs anyway I hope ive helped at least someone!
All of these are just a waste of time. Just go to a gym and use the treadmill for crying out loud.
shut up wotlk, no one wants to hear about a treadmill. that’s why they came here. a treadmill burns way fewer calories than actual walking does anyway. it does half the work for you.
i have foundt the best way to loose calories is not wasting money on the freaking gym and just walking outside around the block and the more you do the more you’ll start to feel better you don’t have to go insane to loose calories just by walking and eating a less porprotion size in meals will help and it’s the fat calories your worried about in foods anyway.
i really want to know that how can i get rid of the fat on my legs espcially on the upper part (the inside part) it get more and more fat and i really dont know what to do….help!
Alice, you can research on toning inner thighs. Some of the best ways to tone your thighs are leg raises (I used to do this every night when I was a little heavier), lunges, and squats.

In regards to number 10, there has been arguments for and against it. Let me clarify
When you are COLD your body has to produce more heat = more calories burned.
When you are HOT your body has to increase blood flow to the skin to allow for more heat dissipation = more calories burned
When you use AC it is generally to make you comfortable. For your body comfortable means a temperature where if doesnt have to expend extra calories to keep itself at the temperature it wants. Therefore you can use AC to burn more calories but that means keeping it at a temperature where you are colder then you would like to be. Which also = more money.
In conclusion in the summer if youd rather be cold than hot and spend extra money turn your AC way down. If you would rather be hot than cold and save money keep the AC turned off. Keeping the the AC at a temperature where you feel comfortable burns less calories then both of these options
