Olga- Although your statement is right, "...different strategies work for different women", I believe this blog in particular is hypocritical in the sense that it does not offer a healthy and nutritious diet that could ALSO be on the plan of becoming runway ready in 7 days-- thus disregarding what could work for "the other different women". Lastly, I took some nutrition classes stating that drinking TOO much water can be harmful by expanding your cells and depleting sodium in the body, so maybe including the minimum intake would more helpful. I do believe there was a case where a lady died from drinking too much water in a Wii competition.

Dear Kristin,

I'll have to disagree with you here. Different strategies work for different women. I gained some extra weight when I was 16 and I couldn't get it off (even having a pretty healthy lifestyle) until a year later when my BGF and I went on this crazy oatmeal/cabbage soup/green tea with honey diet for a week.

We both lost all the extra weight and I felt so pretty and confident then, I never put any weight since. (And it's been 10 years now)

Of course I cut back on sweets afterwards, but I wouldn't have been able to make this decision if I didn't have the body I always wanted.

It does make it easier to stick to good eating habits if you already have something you do not want to lose (like a slim figure). So, I'd say that crazy dieting week was one of the best things I've ever done!

I like your suggestions, except for the crash diet ones. Promoting unhealthy dieting is irresponsible and while it may "work" it won't work for long and I bet you'll feel horrible and starved the entire time. Why not promote healthful living rather than quick fixes? Part of being runway ready should be feeling upbeat and confident, which I can't imagine feeling if all I've eaten is cabbage.
