Are you one of those who can’t get enough of love and romance? Do you cry your eyes out when the boy gets the girl in a happy ending? Or are you one of those who likes to relax in the sofa with some popcorn and a nice romantic movie? No matter what I can assure you that you will find a movie suitable for you on our list of 50 Most Romantic Movies ever!
50. Memoirs of a Geisha (2005)

Ziyi Zhang and Suzuka Ohgo are excellent in this touching and interesting movie where we learn a lot about a totally different culture. The movie is touching, trustworthy and sometimes very sad. You would regret missing this.
49. Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)

The world will never get enough of Audrey Hepburn and here is a great chance to see her in action. When you say Breakfast at Tifany’s most people immediatly comes to think of the bright star Hepburn who is excellent in the lead character. This movie is still going strong, almost 50 years after its release.
48. Never Been Kissed (1999)

This is a really sweet story about a girl, played by Drew Barrymore, who has never been kissed. She meets a guy, Michael Vartan and falls in love with him but the story is complicated. This is a movie that will make you smile and feel with the characters. It’s a terrific love story.
47. Falling in Love (1984)

See Meryl Streep and Robert deNiro falling in love in this wonderful movie. It’s a beautiful story but full of complications which makes the film full of life from the beginning to the last minute. This movie will be on the top list for yet another decade, I’m sure of it.
46. The Wedding Date (2005)

Debra Messing doesn’t want to go to her sisters wedding alone so she hire Dermot Mulroney to go with her as her boyfriend. It’s not as easy as it might sound though since there are feelings involved as well.

erm number one…the notebook
how can u forget “A Walk To Remember”
I love all of them expecially the city of angels.
How can everyone forget about Anne of Green Gables/Anne of Green Gables- The Sequel???
ummm too bad that numbers one, two, and three should be West Side Story, The Notebook, and Tristan and Isolde (:
West Side Story is the best and most tragic love story of them all.
I want to rent all of these. Good list! The Notebook is def. a good one too.
wheres the notebook
Lol… I looked at this list and thought, two that will shall be on here will be…
A walk to remember… and The Notebook, but it wasn’t. That’s crazy! It’s probally number 1 to be honeset. :)
what happened to Pretty Woman????
I love 50 first dates.. Love can be felt for any reason..
i agree, Notebook should at least be in the top 5, and in the top 10, they should also have Amelie and the Piano.
and what about all those kewl movies with John Cusack like High Fidelity and Must Love Dogs?
and if you’re going to have a Jack Nicholson movie, how about As Good as it Gets or Terms of Endearment? come on people, since when is Cruel Intentions Romantic, unless you consider soft-core porn romantic?
i also loved Stranger Than Fiction.
Some other wonderful romantic gems: Ever After, Somewhere In Time, The Philadelphia Story, Bringing Up Baby, Random Harvest, Dark Victory, Now Voyager, The Clock, The Wedding Singer, Beauty and the Beast(Disney version), Love Crazy, The Best Years of Our Lives, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, It’s a Wonderful Life, Butterflies are Free, What’s up Doc, Can’t Buy me Love, Sixteen Candles, Where the Heart Is, The Other Side of Heaven, Man in the Moon (Reese Witherspoon’s first movie circa 1991), The Magic of Ordinary Days, P.S. I Love You, and Marty. Why is it so many of these films don’t seem to garner the creedence they deserve, especially the last one? It won best picture of 1955 and is a simple love story that explores the complexities of human nature so eloquently. And two which are difficult to find or have not been released on DVD: The Enchanted Cottage and A Letter For Evie. They explore similar premises to Marty but abound with different twists and turns. The resounding theme in all these treasures: the power of love to transform.
I recommend any of the above selections if you’ve not seen them or if you’ve seen them a hundred times. NOTE: P.S. I Love You is a brand new title but I’ve included it herein because it’s sure to become a classic.
The Wedding SInger and Eer After are on of my faves too.
why If ONLY is not in the list????…I guess it is one of the best movie i have ever seen….its a must watch…..
If Only is such a romantic movie. I recommend this to those who havent seen it.
hi!! good list, but as everyone else there are some movies that most be here like THE NOTEBOOK, thas one of the greates movies ever, and IF ONLY, thanks good that here is MOULIN ROUGE… because 4 me thats the best of all!! thas my fave movie of all times!!! xD that one and the notebook!!!
need a movie to watch a sweet one somthing she will love but somthing i will at least like sorry im not a chick flick guy thx fore the help love,
john
WHAT WHERE IS THE NOTEBOOK
Life is beautiful!!!!and in a strange way..ALFIE too
I still don’t get Titantic. I thought it was terrible and terribly over rated.
The Notebook should be on here and so should Pretty Woman. I can’t believe anything with Ashton Kutcher is on here. What about Across the Universe? that was a great movie. Titanic took a true event, filled it with crap then tricked everyone into watching it. Then it ran extra long so it could grab the all time grossingest movie.
I agree with you, Tom, Pretty Woman should be here, but I do not agree about Titanic! Yes, it got too much attention, but the movie is great! It’s very-very romantic!
And, Sofia, yes, Moulin Rouge is one of the best:)
titanic is number one, no doubt, though notebook deserves to be somewhere in top 5, where’s PS. I love you though? its one movie that deserves to be here
Where is “William Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet”? It’s theme song is Kissing You by Des’ree and it stars Leo DiCprio!!!! NEED I SAY MORE!!!!! That should definately be number 1. It is my favorite movie of all time.
for me the best are : A lot like love , P.S. I love you , The Notebook , A Walk To Remember
Are you kidding me? Roxanne, starring Steve Martin and Daryl Hannah, is not on your list??? It’s funny, intelligently written, and well-acted. Ladies…how could you have forgotten this one?
Hi Robin, thank you for the headsup! We’ll include your Roxanne movie suggestion into the Poll. And if it is voted on it will be on the list too :) Thanks again!
I think P.S i love you is one of the best romantic movies made its way up there with the notebook!!! there both great movies!
i think that Pearl Harbor is the best i luv it watched it many times and recommend it =) The notebook is good but i think pearl harbor is much better.
What do you think about “the lake house”? I think it deserves a place in here. And “city of angels” is just wonderful. oh! and I have another one ” What dreams may come” with Robin Williams….
hellooooo…..
where is ‘if only’…..?
Watch it…..You will fall in love….Believe me.
Christina, you are so right!!! How could we forget about “What Dreams May Come” and “City of Angels”… those are so intense! Thank you!
Hey! what about ” Somewhere in Time” with Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymore. I just love that movie. Thanks!
Hi dear Karan, we have included “If Only” into the poll at the end of the post. Please do vote on it and it will definitely be on the list soon! :)
