I Love You, and Marty. Why is it so many of these films don't seem to garner the creedence they deserve, especially the last one? It won best picture of 1955 and is a simple love story that explores the complexities of human nature so eloquently. And two which are difficult to find or have not been released on DVD: The Enchanted Cottage and A Letter For Evie. They explore similar premises to Marty but abound with different twists and turns. The resounding theme in all these treasures: the power of love to transform. I recommend any of the above selections if you've not seen them or if you've seen them a hundred times. NOTE: P.S.
