“Babel” makes Japanese people sick

In a Japanese newspaper advertisement, the Japanese distributor of Babel warned people that the movie may make them ill. Some people have become queasy when watching a scene where Rinko Kikuchi’s character enters a nightclub full of strobe lights.

“This feature presentation includes some highly stimulating effects and some customers have complained of feeling ill,” reads part of the warning, which the distributors have added to their Web site and also requested be displayed on posters at about 300 cinemas.
